Forced Perspective Photography. A bit of a Face within a Face picture. I will be working on using this type of photograph for other people as well... It will be easier when Im not taking it myself, on a timer, and a remote camera button on my phone.
Button is a 5 year old female Tonkanese. She purrs like summer thunder and loves to ride on shoulders - the higher the better
This is 1 of 3 button fairies I made for a swapbot swap. This is the first time I made button fairies. I think they turned out OK.
Button Business
March 2011
Medium: Badges and people, As large as participants make it.
Description: Button Business, is a social scultpure. This work was generated out a frustration from attending private views and not being able to meet anyone new. This work invites people attending a private view, or later on in the gallery, to wear a badge/s that best describe their role in the artworld. Functioning as an ice-breaker tool, the project allowed strangers to approach one another and ask about about their badge selection and then perhaps discuss more. Polaroids were taken of those participating at the PV. The badges ranged from ARTIST ( red) FRIEND OF ARTIST ( pink) SEEKING ARTIST ( light blue) CRITIC ( yellow) CURATOR ( dark green) ACADEMIC ( blue) COLLECTOR ( lime green) CREATIVE INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL ( orange) and HERE FOR THE BEER ( gray). As viewers/participants left, they took the badge to serve as a point of anecdote for the project and perhaps prompt future discussions.
On view at Victoria House London, New Sensations show October 11-17th!
A button fell off of one of my Perrys. I'll have to sew it back on before I leave for Chicago. This one is a day late. I'm so bad at being on time. Most of my pictures are macro. Hm.
