Beautiful Lantana, the butterfies love it & so do I! It brightens a cold Winters day! I hope it spreads sunshine to all of you who need it my friends =)
This butterfly was injured but it was still quite attractive
Open-wing basking is a common butterfly behavior to absorb sunlight and regulate body temperature.
The Angled Castor typically rests on leaves or bare ground with wings fully open, showing its striking orange and brown patterned upperwings with characteristic wavy lines.
A Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) rests on a marigold flower, likely feeding on nectar. Monarchs are known for their striking orange and black wings and long migratory journeys. Marigolds provide a rich nectar source, attracting various pollinators including butterflies and bees.

Description:
In the stillness of the morning, a Painted Lady finds sanctuary among wild white petals. The softness of analog glass and the patience of manual focus reveal details often overlooked. Captured with a vintage Hanimax lens, hand-held, this is a quiet ode to the analog soul in the digital age.
Resting quietly on a leaf, the Blue Pansy butterfly spreads its wings like a living painting. Vivid blues shimmer in the light, while bold orange eyespots warn predators to stay away. Found in warm, tropical regions, this little marvel is more than just beautiful — it's a master of disguise and survival. For just a moment, nature pauses, and we get to witness its silent elegance.

I appreciate it! :)
I caught this bee leaving the "Butterfly love" lotus' bloom. Unlike most water lilies whose blossoms lie on or just above the water garden's surface, the lotus blossoms rise 3-4' ( 1-1.3 m) above the water level.

It showed up quietly, clinging to the wall like it had always been there. The warm brown patterns on its wings melted into the shadows, almost invisible unless you really looked. Nothing dramatic, nothing loud — just a small reminder that even the night has its gentle visitors.
Butterfly World, Coconut Creek, Florida
After falling in love with my butterflies many of you have asked what is butterfly world? so here it goes. its a pretty place which has around 10000 butterflies and the first thing you will hear when you enter is "wow" , butterflies flying everywhere.

Missie geslaagd :-)

This little lovely fluttered into my Bristol garden recently, I spotted it on my butterfly plant so ran inside grabbed my camera, and ran back .... no butterfly!
Fortunately after a minute or two he or she had returned, then I was able to take a few photographs.
First time I have seen this butterfly in my garden, hopefully not the last.

Love & Peace! 💞
Hardy lotus "butterfly love" finally opened. After three days, all the petals dropped and the "shower head" looking part remains. At least there are two additional flower stalks on the rise. For the curious, that's thalia leaves on the left and hibiscus on the right.
Bee checking out the second hardy lotus, Butterfly love in the pond this morning. Thus far the one lotus has three more flower spikes. Unfortunately they last the same ~2 days as the other water lilies, that the lotus leaves are so large makes up for it though. FYI, that is some other mystery out of focus insect, not a dirty sensor, thank you.
This little beauty was fluttering around my Hebe flowers and decided to partake in some nectar, and it's truly welcome, well that's the reason I planted it.
BUTTERFLY LOVE
My friend the butterfly flaps and flutters, it loves the bees but calls them nutters,
Loving the roses, buttercups and daisy, those long summer days so hot, so crazy,
Cool days are coming alas, but next year back en masse.

Yess!! Loove!! And where??? Up-up and away, onto the Swiss Alps!! Full of oxygen, and surrounded by pure, Natural Beauty!
This butterfly was flying from one plant to another, this image captures the moment that it starts to land on the plant, with wings slowing it down.
This pretty (Little White) (Pieris rapae) butterfly landed on my lavender plant yesterday.
Its underwing's are a pale yellow, as can be seen from the image, especially when its wings are closed.
With wings open, they are white with dark spots, and the wing tips are dark.
I believe this particular butterfly is a female, as the male of this species lacks the dark spots to the upper wings.
What a beautiful curled up black tongue or (proboscis) it possesses, and it was uncurled and sampling lavender nectar moments later. The proboscis is used like a straw to suck up fluids, fruit juice, or sometimes tree sap.
I love butterflies in my garden. Unfortunately, there has been less this year, and that's certainly a shame.
These are a very common butterfly here in Bristol and elsewhere. I should imagine.
These small white butterflies are rather small as their name, may suggest, only measuring in at 3.8 cm - 5.7 cm.
Butterflies have 4 wings and 6 legs, and their eyes are amazing, containing numerous tiny eyes with lenses like our eyes, this enables them to see all around better.
I thought butterflies had pretty good vision because nearly every time I tried to sneak up on one, it inevitably flies off.
Love & Peace
Everyone! 🙏
A mesmerizing butterfly perched delicately on lush green foliage, its intricate patterns and glowing orange hues creating a breathtaking contrast. A true symbol of nature’s artistry and elegance.
