Sailing boat, Marina Cannes, French Riviera, France.

A boat is a sailboat (pieces of fabric), propelled by the wind. Historically, the boat was the first conveyance medium and long distance. Sailboats carrying goods, passengers, mail. They were used for fishing at sea, military and naval battles.

From the Industrial Revolution of the nineteenth century sailing propulsion gradually disappears for utility transport replaced by steamships and motor boats. Today, utility transport and fishing boats remain only in the less industrially developed countries.

The yachts are used for recreational purposes: competitive sailing and boating.

Street photography in Zurich, Switzerland. The main station in Zurich is one of the best spots for street photography. In this picture I love the lines forming a horizontal pattern.

Street photography in Zurich, Switzerland. I really like the hard light of the view upwards. And then the prominent clock and the silhouette of the two persons.

Coincidence: I and some work colleagues had planned to meet at breakfast and afterwards visit together the anatomical museum Berlin (Museum of Medical History at the Charité)

Zufallsbegebenheit: Geplant war mich mit ein paar Kollegen beim Frühstück zu treffen und nachher gemeinsam das Medizinhistorische Museum der Charité zu besuchen

Street photography in Zurich, Switzerland. I really like this overpass bridge when it drops shadows in the sun. Combining this with an ultra-wide lens and two great subjects (even carrying their dog) and you have an amazing picture.

the architecture is strict, the rhythm relentless. every beam, every panel, every fluorescent light – all pulling forward, forward, forward. he doesn’t fight it. he rolls along with his suitcase, eyes ahead, steps measured, mind elsewhere. this isn’t travel. this is routine wrapped in glass and symmetry. a visual echo of movement without meaning. the modern ritual of departure.

Bagan is famous for its sunrises, which cast light against over 2,200 of ancient temples and pagodas and they are even more incredible from the soaring heights of a hot air balloon to take in the incredible history spread across the plains of Bagan.

Bagan is famous for its sunrises, which cast light against thousands of ancient temples and pagodas and they are even more incredible from the soaring heights of a hot air balloon.

Lost cities abound in Myanmar, but none approach the splendour of Bagan. During the kingdom's height between the 11th and 13th centuries, 4,446 Buddhist temples, pagodas, shrines, stupas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of 3,822 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.
