"Walks" are stripmalls. Here were $2.50 Cleaners, a Boost Mobile, a pawn shop, soft pretzels, a coin laundry, Borderlands Comics & Games, Nails 2000, a Dollar General, Tattoo Cash Pros, Custom T-shirts & Signs, Grinders American Diner, and SalonCentric, all a comfortable walk from wherever.

This day all I needed were a soft pretzel, a game, and a tattoo cash pro, but I intend to visit all of the businesses eventually.

Unfortunately I am unable to restrain myself from noticing and remarking upon nonstandard instances of business signs of famous business chains, such as the apparently detachable letters and detachable yellow M of this bootleg-looking McDonald's sign, with its drivethru sign mounted on a triangular prism. If a diagonal orientation is good for the drivethru message, why isn't it good for the company logo too?

Is the empty signframe at the right supposed to be showing me a picture of a mcnugget getting dipped into a room-temperature sauce of seasoned corn syrup.

Car washes are in an aggressive phase in 'Burque. This chain alone has opened 10 sites in town in the last several years. The City has considered (weak) measures to limit the boom in large car washes

Not sure what kind of business this is. Looks like it might be a salon or something like that. The building behind the sign is an apartment complex. This is on 12th Street, just north of Camelback Road in Phoenix.

Canon 5D with Canon 100mm f2.8 macro USM lens. I used the Standard Picture Style setting on the camera, and the picture still turned out pretty flat. Keeping the lens wide open probably didn't help, but I wanted some background blur. One thing about full-frame cameras is that they magnify lens imperfections. I had to use 100% peripheral lens correction in Canon DPP to lighten up the corners. I then defogged the image and used a Levels layer and a Curves layer in Photoshop to make the picture pop better than SOOC.
