The business of collecting nesting material in the Sonoran Desert for little 'flying jewels', as hummingbirds, must be tricky. With a wing beat of about fifty times a second, together with amazing aerial control, I'm sure they are well up for it. This one, which I believe is a female ruby-thoated hummingbird, had migrated hundreds of miles south, but stopped short of the Mexican border, to settle in the Tucson area of Arizona. It's quite remarkable what turns up in people's backyards!

Many thanks for your comments, and with best wishes for a good day.👍

Having swapped cars with the CN at Lenzburg, this Kaskaskia River Railroad train returns to KRPD Dock 1 with a long string of loaded gypsum gondolas and empty limestone hoppers. The railroad and port were originally part of Peabody Coal Company's mining operations, but now almost exclusively handle materials moving to and from the Prairie State Energy Center a few miles away. I spoke with a crew member who indicated that business is booming, and the KRRC has barely enough manpower or resources to handle it. The obviously ex-UP GP15 is a recent arrival to help with the upswing in traffic.

The fife rail on the lower main mast , a scene on the 19th century iron hulled Barque James Craig . Built in Sunderland, England in 1874 , originally named Clan Macleod , she was renamed James Craig in 1905 . She was found sunk and abandoned in 1972 as a rusty rotting hulk in isolated Recherche Bay Tasmania . Patched up and refloated she was taken to Hobart where she remained while vital repairs were carried out for safe towing to Sydney in 1981 , There the serious business of a total restoration began . Through hardship and the generous donations of many the restoration was finally completed in 2001 . Today James Craig is one of only four 19th century tall ships that go to sea regularly .

She is owned by the Sydney Heritage Fleet .

It had been 6 years since I was in Dubai last and I passed through again recently in February, on my way through to Norway. On a very still morning I revisited a location I shot the last time I was here and was surprised to be approached by security guards at such a quiet location.

I was informed that shooting with tripods was not allowed here. I politely explained I was shooting long exposure and was waiting for just the right light which was only minutes away and asked if it was at all possible they could grant me 10 more minutes. They were kind enough to give me that and it was the last shot I took 5 minutes later that gave me the light I had been waiting for. Thanks to the security for their understanding.

Union empty slabs are being shoved down into ET, while 8 crew works the valley yard, and a random 4 pack of units sits inside the receiving yard inside ET.

As we left there was another 4 pack of units tied down on the siding, where the crew had died on time.

This is my first attempt at a business card design :) I am looking at it now and not happy with the word placements. It all can be changed though. Nothing embossed here and the paper a semi-gloss.

Tonight was the big company party. As our workday ended, we of course began to quote 30 Rock. More business juice please!

(I had a blazer on over this convertible top, under which I had two regular straps. When it was party time, I swapped out for the feathery strap. "Day to evening," my project leader said. "My favorite way to switch from day to evening is to add an accessory," I replied, "like a martini.")

Trousers: Worthington from JC Penney

Trouser socks: Foot Traffic from Sock it to Me

shoes: Fergalicious by Fergie from JC Penney

About 3 years ago I asked a friend what lens I should buy as my first non-kit lens. He said a 30mm prime - and boy was he right. I've had so much fun with this little beauty over the last few years - everybody loves a bit of bokeh eh! This photo is from when I tried and failed to complete a 52 week project, I think I missed about 10 weeks in the end. Still like this particular shot mind.
