This model adopted the design style from the New Bus of London project and combined them with an Enviro 400 MMC body. It was revealed in the Coach and Bus Live 2015 exhibition. Arriva London was the first operator of the model, allocating the batch of 19 buses on Route 78 from late 2015. The 10.4m bus has capacity for 90 passengers and is powered by a Cummins four-cylinder, 4.5 litre iSBe engine, along with BAE Hybridrive.
Based on 81801, 81802 and 81803 units, I came up with this drawing, driver side is different from VLI, this unit has an emergency door exit.

A Volvo B8L 12m with Volvo bodywork built to UK standards. Bodywork designed with reference to the body styles of the Volvo 7900 and the Volvo 8900. Uses the newest grille design from the Volvo 7900E.

The transition to Euro VI emission standards saw the need for manufacturers to replace the engines on their vehicle line-up. Volvo upgraded the B7RLE into the B8RLE to continue its heavyweight single deck offering for the British market. A demonstrator with MCV eVolution C123RLE bodywork has entered service with Arriva The Shires, and this drawing represents the bus fresh into service.
The major change in the bus other than the change in the engine is the height was raised by 100mm to 3000mm, allowing greater headroom for the rear of the bus compartment above the engine. The change directly translates into a more spacious interior.
