A surprising, gnarly sand-twister came over the desert one day. I chased it for about three minutes. I know it sounds crazy, but they are actually fun get close too because the wind whips your bike around and you don't have to pedal... just kind of hang on for the ride with one hand, the other one taking photos!

I don't really know what this was. There was this duststorm, and I turned around, and this thing was just hovering there, and then it backfired and sped off! Smelled like diesel.

In the middle of one afternoon, there was a big gay pride parade that went across the middle of the desert. I mean, I assume that it was a gay pride parade was going on. Maybe it was just a bunch of really fit dudes who have a shared hobby of colorful flags. I didn't ask but they seemed super happy for me to take photos. The tree in the middle of the desert glowed all day and all night. One evening, there was a 70-piece orchestra here and a ballet where they performed The Rites of Spring. It's the first time I ever heard of a production like that at Burning Man. #treeoftenere

What an AMAZING PHOTO WALK! Thanks again for coming out. How lucky were we to have that light? All you people that live in San Francisco and going to Burning Man are so lucky! (Anyone going this year??) - I have to fly all the way from NZ - but I'll definitely come through SF - I'm sick of LAX. I guess that's another reason you're lucky - you don't have to go through LAX!
