Representatives from Patch Elementary School and DoDEA-Europe, U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, the Staatliches Hochbauamt Stuttgart and contractors Peter Gross Hoch und Tiefbau and Wolff & Müller Government Services, a joint-venture partnership for the construction, and Ondra Generalplaner, the agency that designed the facility attended the event.

The early 115,000 square-feet school, scheduled to open for the 2021 school year, will house 550 students from prekindergarten through the fifth grade for a cost of nearly $50 million.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District is managing design and construction of the $1.08 billion facility as part of 2005 Base Realignment and Closure programs which are ongoing on and around Fort Belvoir, Va.

The ceremony was held to transfer leadership of the NGA to Letitia A. Long, who comes to NGA from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), where she served as the DIA deputy director from May 2006 until July 2010. The ceremony was held on the site of NGA Campus East (NCE), a 2005 Base Realignment and Closure project which will consolidate various offices of NGA into a single campus here. FORT BELVOIR COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- Terry Floyd, a construction representative with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District, talks with Mark Manevich, a Norfolk District contractor, while visiting the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital project site here Sept. 7, 2010. Floyd is assigned to Norfolk District's Langley Air Force Base Resident Office, and was visiting the site here to share lessons learned while working on a hospital project at Langley AFB. Together with the U.S. Army Health Facility Planning Agency, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District is leading design and construction of the hospital. The facility includes a seven-story, 120-bed hospital tower, four buildings which house more than 25 primary and specialty care clinics, two open-air parking garages and a central utilities plant. Officials with Europe District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and partners celebrated the construction groundbreaking on a 21st-century elementary school for Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany, March 1.

Representatives from Patch Elementary School and DoDEA-Europe, U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, the Staatliches Hochbauamt Stuttgart and contractors Peter Gross Hoch und Tiefbau and Wolff & Müller Government Services, a joint-venture partnership for the construction, and Ondra Generalplaner, the agency that designed the facility attended the event.

The early 115,000 square-feet school, scheduled to open for the 2021 school year, will house 550 students from prekindergarten through the fifth grade for a cost of nearly $50 million.
