This was taken on Saturday morning at the Ravines Park near GVSU. We watched both Eagles fly into their favorite Sycamore tree so we positioned ourselves between this tree and their nest. the first eagle took off and headed straight for the nest, we knew the this second Eagle would not be far behind. We waited about 2 minutes and this eagle broke a branch off the tree and flew straight at us.
It was fun to see these birds fly overhead.
Now that the leaves are off the trees the hidden bird nests show themselves. The orioles who owned this nest found some orange yarn somewhere to brighten up their abode.

The State Savings Loan and Trust is a historic bank building located at 428 Maine Street in Quincy. The bank was built in 1892 for brothers Lorenzo and Charles H. Bull, who were prominent Quincy businessmen and community leaders. The Chicago architectural firm Patton & Fisher designed the bank in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The western addition (on the right) was designed in 1906 by prominent Quincy architect Ernest M. Wood. Constructed of pink Missouri granite, the building's exterior is graced by handsomely carved Romanesque decorative details, massive iron and oak doors, and beautiful curvilinear window grilles of wrought iron. The building has a five bay facade, with three bays on the original portion and two on the addition; the bays are each marked by a window with a thick stone arch. The original section is topped by a large front-facing gable, providing for attic space above the second story.
The ground floor of the historic structure is now occupied by a restaurant, with office space above. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Beavers build dams and lodges using tree branches, vegetation, rocks and mud; they chew down trees for building material. Dams restrict water flow, and lodges serve as shelters. Their infrastructure creates wetlands used by many other species, and because of their effect on other organisms in the ecosystem, beavers are considered a keystone species.
…Padstow is marauded with tourists (us included) in season but it is still very much a working harbour - the two main activities are Fish & Sand! Two shots today depicting just that:- Sand being unloaded from the dredger Sand-Snipe and Fish being loaded directly into a refrigerated lorry on the quay…..

Although the steel balustrades are evenly spaced from all sides, the angle of incidence relative to the sun creates a quite different pattern.
For this Triptych I used the same original photo, just creating different sections.

This ton of bricks hit me when I walked into the first barn (see what I did there?) on the tour. I'm assuming it's a pile of bricks salvaged from an old building.

I've often mentioned that I work at RONA, which is a Canadian competitor to Home Depot and Lowes.
When I was growing up, our family business (Pleasant View Farms) was engaged in the wholesale and retail sales of farm and landscaping/nursery supplies: hardware, fencing, pesticides, plants, hay/straw for bedding, containers, firewood, seed, clothing, paint and on and on.
In 2002, after many years in various endeavours (museums, teaching English, marketing, I was accepted in the seasonal department at RONA, where I employed the skills and knowledge that I had garnered so many years before at Pleasant View Farms.
If you visit while I'm at RONA, you'll likely find me in the greenhouse and/or garden centre. I also spend a good deal of time on the seasonal hardware floor.
It's just part-time... a day or two a week, but it suits nicely.

1982 - Ro-Na purchased the assets of Botanix.
1984 - Ro-Na created a purchasing alliance with Ontario-based Home Hardware Stores Ltd. through Alliance RONA Home Inc.
1988 - Ro-Na merged with Dismat, another building materials company, to create Ro-Na Dismat Group Inc.
1990 - Ro-Na formed an alliance with Hardware Wholesalers, Inc. of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
1997 - ITM Entreprises S.A., a France-based group, invests $30 million in the Ro-Na Dismat Group Inc. ITM becomes a shareholder and forms a purchasing alliance with Ro-Na.
1998 - Ro-Na eliminates the Le Quincailleur and Dismat names and introduces RONA L'express, RONA L'express Matériaux and RONA Le Rénovateur Régional. It also changes its name from Ro-Na Dismat Group Inc. to RONA Inc.
