Guillemot / uria aalge. Bempton Cliffs, East Yorkshire. 22/06/19.
Braving the elements on the steep chalk breeding cliffs must be hard for the seabirds that use them annually. One thing is for certain though, they are never short of something to watch!
Earlier these two had engaged in some mutual preening, a ritual that strengthens the pair bond. That done they have now found something of great interest to look at below them.
Days precious days
Roll in and out like waves
I got boards to bend I got planks to nail
I got charts to make I got seas to sail...

Dry dock #1, on the former Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, Ca. is the oldest dry dock on the west coast built in 1891…It was constructed of concrete and granite and sits at 525’ long, 122’ wide and 35’ 9” deep…just to the right sitting in dry dock #2 is the Liberty ship Jeremiah O’Brien, built in 1943 and a rare survivor of the 6,939-ship 6 June 1944 D-Day armada off the coast of Normandy, France…
I based this build off the concept art that was released before the movie, see the original here: www.flickr.com/photos/antdude3001/8618467480/in/set-72157... I tried as hard as I could to make as close to the original, but still with my own little twists like adding Yondu.
For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn't have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking.

A competition I am running on my facebook page:
PAPER BUILD COMPETITION!!!!
Its my birthday so to mark the occasion I am launching a new competition :)
Post a picture of your favourite building on www.facebook.com/Popupology (side and front viewpoints required) labelled "paper build" and at the end of every two weeks I will select one to be made into an OA building. If your picture is chosen I will post a finished card to you as a prize!!!
Just snuck in to post this. Gotta go write some scripts, that's what they're paying me for :)
This is dedicated to all my loyal flickr friends. Thank you for your never-ending support. Let's build one another.
Don't destroy.
I'll be on your streams soon enough.
Madpea is having a fun free hunt this weekend. Collect the robot pieces and build your very own robot friend just like mine. You do have to join the free Madpea group to play, clues are given. Fun hunt. Thanks Madpea!
Highlights:
– 131 builds! Not bad, really. ;)
– Blogged by TBB, once.
– Blogged a couple of times by BrickNerd.
– In quick succession, MOCathalon in March, GoH’s Challenge IV from March to June, and then AG kept me with a rate of at least one build a week. A bit exhausting, but fun!
– Published in Beautiful LEGO: Wild!
– Participated in a collab build with my brothers – Fight Through Abercrumbie Pass.
– Made it past the 50 favorites mark, though I was gunning for a hundred, but I guess that will have to wait.
– Passed 500 followers.
– Got a few honorable mentions here and there.
– Participated in launching Brethren of the Brick Seas.
Unlike those who are saying that they will be trying to build more next year, I will actually be trying to build less. I really want to make every MOC as good as it can be rather than feeling rushed to finish a build in a couple of hours. Plus I want to start building more as an art than just because I want to enter the next contest… so we’ll see!
My favorite builds this year:
Well, I really liked my worthless steering wheel build. But apparently not too many other people did.
Water of Life, if small, is still one of my favorites.
The Hanging rock + snake was enjoyable.
And of course, Auner Chapel, one of my heaftiest builds.
From left to right, top to bottom, the above builds are:
There be Treasure in Them Thar Caves!
Fight Through Abercrumbie Pass
"this is a build for the Hibernia group, and is not attached to the assault cannon."
made by an unknown company for the hibernia colonization program, it was meant to pull sleds, and with it's impressive bogie design being replaced by crude track pods it's no wonder these are seen abandoned on hibernia here and there.
the next few builds are going to be hibernia focused, as i look and think of inspiration for the next few builds, any questions leave in the comments.

Part of A work in progress. Building... but building what? series
The wait is over, today my friend Pixel Fox and myself are very happy to share with you the building instructions of the Winchester!
I want to say a huge thanks to Sylvain from 1001 Bricks and Marc a.k.a. Roamingstudio for their help in making this possible.
This zip file contains the following:
PDF instructions, one file per floor - total size 16MB.
These are the step by step building instructions, similar to what LEGO produces for its official sets.
Note that “Shaun” and the “Winchester gun” are not LEGO products and can only be purchased via BrickArms resellers (www.brickarms.com/).
If you ever decide to build your own Win either based on our design or your own, please send us a picture or post it in this dedicated Flickr group.
Thank you all, it’s been a great ride.

Oh yeah, micro garc build time.
When it's late in the night, there's always time for some late night GARCing!
What a year it has been! 40 builds for about 25 different contests. This year I focused on improving my presentation and editing of builds. The highlight builds for me were probably Waterfall Keep, Steps of Cirith Ungol, Minas Tirith, Equestrian Watch Party, The Library, The Archivist, and Dwarf Tales. I know that's a lot of favorites, but it's hard to choose just one :)
Thanks to all ya'll for supporting my builds and for your kind comments. I look forward to next year, though there will likely be less builds as I graduate college, go on a missions trip, and then start working full time, so I'll generally have less free time.
All glory be to God for giving me the creativity and ability to build!
