When you're a busy mom like this pretty lady there isn't time to get a professional pedicure. You take things into your own hands......or mouth and hands.

Yet another sad story of broken dreams and failure along the Mother Road...

This rare 1975 740 cc Triumph Trident SAY957R was produced on a shoestring budget by the Meriden Co-op which had almost no money for research and development. It’s a shame production only lasted a year. This high-performance motorcycle was seen at the Classic Motor Hub.

Kentmere 100 rated at 64 ASA, developed in Rodinal 1:25 for 9 minutes. Though I found this development dilution/time for this film, it resulted in severely overdeveloped negatives. Never again, Rodinal. I've come to hate the stuff.

Also, I am getting rid of my remaining stock of Kentmere 120. It lacks sharpness and high value definition, and images from it are difficult to edit. There's a kind of flatness to the results. It's a fine film for students and those who have to stay on-budget, but otherwise it lacks charisma.

A UK government minister used this expression in parliament last week and I was mystified by what he was on about. This is what I found:

"In the UK, 4.1 million tonnes of food is wasted in the grocery retail supply chain each year. The wasted food is safe, in-date and edible, but isn’t used by major retailers for a variety of reasons, such as faulty packaging and over-ordering.

‘Social supermarkets’ reduce this food waste by selling this ‘waste’ stock at low prices to local people on low incomes who are struggling with food poverty."

Anyway this is my dinner today. Not knowing what you will be able to buy each week makes for some creative cooking!

They didn't cost 8p from Lidl, or 15p from Tesco (with my club card) but I know the exact field where these potatoes were grown, know the local producers who spent half the year growing and processing them and bought them from a local shop less than fifteen miles from the field and the farm that they grew! Undoubtedly the supermarkets provide essential services and employment to areas such as Caithness and in these days of limited budgets are always there to sell you whatever you need, but sometimes its worth buying local. John O'Groats potatoes from Mowat's Farm, John O'Groats, Caithness, £4 for a 5kg bag, in my kitchen on Sunday 22/12/2024.

In the Bavaria district, the new glass and steel building dedicated to culture and reading was 50% funded by the Province of Liège, with support from Europe and Wallonia. Total budget: 50 million euros.

Why B3?

In a press release, the Province explains that it wanted to choose a simple name, a choice made after having informally consulted the cultural and associative milieu of Liège and the population.

B for "Bavaria"

The new building was built on the site of the former Bavaria Hospital. This is a historical reference for a future-oriented tool, specifies the Province.

3 as the 3 functions of a "third place"

The project foresees three functions for the building:

1. A resource center including the former Chiroux library (books, works of art, musical media, etc.), a digital public space, an agora, a 160-seat hall, an exhibition hall and a brasserie space.

2. Artistic creation with "the exploratory of possibilities", including a fablab, workspaces dedicated to creative and digital professions and artistic professions, a digital space.

3. A business incubator with 800 m2 of office space and a coworking area for young companies and cultural and creative projects.

Seen at a local thrift store. It's unusual to find an SLR on their shelves. This is a budget K-mount model made for Sears by Ricoh.

I was tempted, but I already have a very similar Ricoh CR-5 (a flea market find), so I left this kit for someone else.

This is the boat to Calais isn't it?
