"For love, a bench in the square is enough.
Or stand in front of a gate.
Or a cup of coffee.
Love itself is a low budget film."
Fabrício Carpinejar
I'm not sure what was going on here with this old Standard Vanguard perched somewhat precariously on this truck chassis! I did wonder what may have happened if I removed the block of wood that was acting as a brake from under the LHF wheel.....

I am wondering about the story of this little building a bit off the route D220 roughly between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Landry. It is surrounded by two beautiful trees that are close to the building. Will I ever know?
Bourg Saint-Maurice
Bourg-Saint-Maurice is part of the Paradiski ski area (425 km of slopes, 141 lifts, 239 slopes - 12 Green, 132 Blue, 66 Red, 29 Black). Although there is no skiing at this altitude, it is conveniently linked to Arc 1600 by the Arc en Ciel funicular railway and is therefore home to many budget rental properties. Unlike the other villages that make up Les Arcs, Bourg-Saint-Maurice is open all year.
Bourg is also a popular summer destination, as it offers lots of opportunity for lovers of the outdoors and watersports. There is a whitewater slalom course on the Isere river used for international canoe and kayak competitions. The course on the Isere has been host to the ICF world championships and is used by many European teams as a training course in the summer. The course is often changed by the floods that occur during the winter months.
The surrounding mountains are good for walking and mountain biking. They also are a good place for paragliding and hang gliding. Some of Les Arcs ski lifts operate during July and August to get walkers to the higher peaks and you can take mountain bikes up on these. Mountain bikes ( VTT (Vélo Tout Terrain) in French) can be hired in both Bourg and Les Arcs. Some of the high altitude restaurants open in these months, the ones at Pre st Esprit and L'Arpete have small outdoor pools.
The nearest summer glacier skiing is in Tignes (approximately 27 km from Bourg) on the Grande Motte, however due to glacial recession it is now closed at certain times of the year.

Excerpt from kitchenermarket.ca:
Our farmers’ market is one of the oldest operating markets in Canada. A proud tradition in Kitchener, the market has been a gathering place for over 150 years.
1830s
We can trace the origins of the farmers' market to the first Mennonite settlers in Waterloo Region.
In the 1830s, farmers with an excess of crops held outdoor markets in the Village of Berlin (now the City of Kitchener).
1869
The town council approved a $7,000 budget to build a new town hall. This building would house the farmers' market, council chambers, a public library and a post office.
1872
Popularity of the market grew so much that the initial site became too crowded. Behind the town hall, crews constructed a new market building, which was home to the market for 35 years.
1907
As the population of Berlin grew, the farmers' market needed to expand. A new red brick building was built and housed the farmers' market for over 60 years.
1971 - 2004
Period of major growth for the Kitchener Market. In this time, it evolved into the market we are familiar with today.
1973
The Market Square building, a downtown Kitchener mall, became home to the new market.
A 1972 brochure stated: "There’ll always be a market in Kitchener… the Kitchener Farmers’ Market will not close this year, next year – ever.”
2004
The Kitchener Market opened a new building on King Street, between Cedar and Eby Streets. Acting as an entrance to downtown Kitchener, the Market remains a cornerstone of the community.
2019
With a new sign and interior renovations, 2019 brought a new look for the market.
A milestone was celebrated as this marked the 150th anniversary of the Kitchener Market having a dedicated building.
In the summer, a full neighbourhood celebration took place with a Mid-Week Market on Wednesday evenings.
Today
While the location of the farmers' market has changed over the years, the spirit of the market in Kitchener strengthened.
The market has become a part of the city's cultural identity and has roots in our natural and human heritage. It is, and always will be, an integral part of our community.
