I spent $21 at the thrift shop 😄

I found all these cuties at the flea market. The most expensive doll is Jasmine she was $3. The cheapest are all the dolls that were 50 cent (you read right). This is what I found with $20 budget

It is a small super market where you will find a huge verity of items, everything in 5 Saudi Riyals or less

This is the Ollie's Bargain Outlet # 48 at 4019 West Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA.

This store is part of what originally was a Government Employees Exchange (GEX) store, and later subdivided.

GEX was a members only club, similar to Costco or Sam's Club, but eligibility for membership was limited to government employees.

One of GEX's notable architecture features was the tent shaped roof. I would assume it was visible (and not covered by ceiling tiles) when it was GEX, but it's really cool that Ollie's (and other tenants) continue to have the original ceiling exposed.

(And yes, the space that housed Ollie's was previously Toys 'R Us)

Mesa, Arizona - April 13, 2025: Entrance to the Mesa Market Place Flea Market and Swap Meet

i'm not really crafty, i just attempt to play one on mom duty. this fun project took me quite some time to complete this weekend. this is my 1st attempt at sewn craftiness and i must say i'm a tad addicted. with some friendly inspiration to be craftier i came across a pic of a cute felt owl pillow. with some personal amateur tweaks, thus mr. owl was hatched. his backside is solid baby blue with a brown heart sewn on his hinny to show my love to james. the only redo in the future will be to fix the outer stitch with a machine so its transparent.

ok teeth.......bring it on!

i'm taking orders now. :)

a thrifted safari-esque shirt vs. madewell's silk safari shirt.

snagged in the back bins at green village junk shop, brooklyn. clothes are $2.00 a pound; this cost approximately 25 cents.

so i finally made my ttv box for the kodak duaflex. sorta silly....but a fun project none the less.

supplies:

cereal box (the lightweight cardboard is easier to work with)

magazines collecting dust that i finally found a use for!

rubber cement...ah the memories

black electrical tape

cost - $0 (all on hand)

a vintage skirt vs. dolce vita's gwen skirt.

vintage prints, green village junk shop, brooklyn, ny.

compared to just about ALL other TTV's this one is the pits.....BUT it's my 1st and i wanted to see how it turned out. a couple of learned lessons......a nice snug box is the way to go. i trashed the 1st box and will be building a new one! i'm really at a loss with only macro filters (macro lens pushed up to the top of the wish list), light is going to be a battle, the slower the shutter the better and my tripod is my best friend. so here's to 1st's!

who says you can't shop basics by the pound?

a thrift find vs. a shopbop blouse.

found some goodies while shopping. Mostly LIV fashions.

others peoples junk is anothers treasures.....

thrifting today resulted in some good finds! just a tad over $30....
