If you are broke, like me...Lol, I mean, if you are on a budget, and buy a ton of blank AF heads cause full complete figures or pre-painted heads are too pricey, you probably look for budget body options as well. Last year I was looking for cheaper bodies that also look neat semi-naked (less joints). These are the only ones I was happy with (FR Homme and Ken added for size comparison!!). All affordable (not the FR Homme though). Limited arm movement on some because of single elbow joint, but that was conscious sacrifice. Coomodel would be my fave, cause it's dirt cheap from Aliexpress, and while it has imperfect finish, it's still great for the price. (Chad has extra ankle joint added by me! It's originally Ken-height body.)

You'd be angry too if your fighter had a Chinese knockoff engine and a cellphone strapped to the side for a communications suite.
I've always been a sucker for a 'free' continental breakfast....this capture reminds of the old halloween movie, "motel hell".
What is the best budget portrait lens for amateurs?
Budget is important because we are amateurs only and some good large aperture lenses are just outside of our affordable range. We need large aperture since blurred background is always preferred in portraits.
The possible lens choices (take Nikon as example) listed with Canadian street prices are:
- 50mm F1.4D $370
- 85mm F1.4D $1,200
- 70-200mm F2.8 VR $2,200
It is an obvious choice in 50mm when we compare the price and value for money. When it is used with my APS-C sensor D300, it is 75mm equivalent. It is light weight and very sharp.
I brought my 50mm F1.4 to the group shooting of Jennifer's portrait. I think it is good for full length shots. Later I found I could be blocking other photographer's shots when I got closer. So I switched to the Sigma 70-200mm lens.
I also found Jennifer (may be the same for other models) needed warm-up as the poses in the beginning of the shooting were not as natural as the ones afterwards. Anyways I am new to this and totally have no idea about posing too.
Please feel free to share your suggestion about portrait lens and experiences.
This is the shot using 50mm F.14 at the beginning of the shooting with Jennifer.

Moai at Ahu Tongariki, Rapa Nui (Easter Island or Isla de Pascua), Chile.
Ahu Tongariki with volcano Poike in the background and the nearby "Traveling Moai" in the foreground.
It is not so difficult to get to this island. Only 5 hours of flight from Santiago. But the budget is to be considered because the ticket price is very expensive. No other practical way to get here other than plane.
Ahu Tongariki was the main centre and capital of the Hotu Iti, the eastern confederation of the Rapanui.
Its moai were toppled during the island's civil wars. In 1960, a tsunami caused by an earthquake off the coast of Chile swept the Ahu Tongariki inland.
Ahu Tongariki was substantially restored in the 1990s by a multidisciplinary team headed by archaeologists Claudio Cristino (Director) and Patricia Vargas (Co-director executive team), in a five year project carried out under an official agreement of the Chilean Government with Tadano Limited and theUniversity of Chile.
Real signage, only edit was a slight crop and applied blur to the background. I have also uploaded the unedited version for those who think that I photoshopped this together.
