The five desires (wealth, lust, love, food, and sleep) are like brine - the more you drink the thirstier you become. Our greed is as deep as the ocean; you can never get to the bottom of it. Discontent is a kind of suffering. Happiness can only be found by minimizing your worldly desires, by being content with what you have.

We hadn't prayed for a while so we stopped at this Hindu-influenced but still Buddhist temple.

Many of the locals, including these young Buddhist boys, joined together to form a human chain stretching along the Ganges River in support of an effort to clean up their Mother Ganga. I love the color of their clothing as the sun hits them and the various postures of the boys.

watching the beijing olympics got me inspired. So I used all my bits and pieces from Chinatown.
