First Carnegie Hall Concert (1970). Complete different to the US Double LP - Live At The Carnegie Hall from 1973 !
For the BBT gang. Tammy Grimes is best known for her unsuccessful TV show in 1966. I liked it, but seemed nobody else did, but then, I liked 'OK Crackerby' too.
Somewhere along the way, Tammy recorded a few records. None of them charted. I acquired this record sometime in the 70's. I first played "Father O'Conner" (the plug side) and didn't like it. I flipped it over and enjoyed the eerie sounding quality of this poor girl. It reminded me of somebody I knew. She never got all the way with Tom either. I was Tom.
Many years have passed since then, and now, I find that Melanie (Brand New Key) recorded the original. It's like a completely different song, yet still shows the hurt in her heart while she's singing...and...Tom still didn't get too far.
Tammy also appeared in movies and on broadway. She was also once married to Jeremy Slate who never had a top 40 hit either, though his "Blue Skies, Green Grass" from '62 is an excellent song.
The first single - Do you believe in magic - wasn't released in Germany. That's why the company POLYDOR (they distributed Buddah in that times) decided to back up this first hit with their second - You Didn't Have To Be So Nice.

Leaving one Friday for work recently, I noticed a neighbor put an old large enclosed stereo console on the curb for the trash. It was just a cheap Sears model, and had seen better days. I decided to peek inside; you never know what may be hiding inside. No Beatles, Stones, Elvis, Spector, garage, psych, or punk classics, just this--
TRU(E)ly one of the biggest "One-Hit-Wonders of the '70s...Andrea True Connection's "More, More,More" Many may only know of this song via the sample found in that abysmal 1999 hit by the Canadian alterna-pop group Len, "Steal My Sunshine". It didn't even sample the best part of the song, in my opinion.
Anyway, one more piece of vintage vinyl saved a cruel death by yours truly.
Here's a link to the tune, if anyone is curious, or has time to kill:
