A rose bud from my home garden, a John Paul II tea rose hybrid in fact, and it is May but still ... The image was taken in a shaft of the afternoon sun low in the sky and against a shady background.
(Apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan for my obscure reference to Ruddigore in the title).

I pointed the camera down onto my large pot plant, I pulled away some flowers to find the buds beneath..
In the background you can see the leaves and flower stems. It’s at least 25yo and is a huge plant.

Miniature Agapanthus revisited. The head of buds in the earlier shot had opened giving a new perspective on photo so thought another photo was in order.
Perennial Shasta daisy flowers every year. I managed to rescue a few plants that had been sprayed with weed killer last year. Yes, my husband.
