Revlon's Vintage Fire & Ice campaign was the inspiration for this outfit. Sure, they did it better, but if Revlon was making Barbie clothes, I'm sure their "Lets Dance" dress would look like this.

This Barbie has had her face paint and hair professionally 'refreshed". She is wearing a vintage brocade clone sheath.
I wasn't going to do Halloween clothes...time just got away from me. But the Cubs are dawdling about sewing up the championship and I think this is my way of coping. :-P

Unless I can find another source for these felt pieces, this is the last Rudolph jumper I can make. :-(

((sigh)) I had planned to post this before the holidays, but like so many of my projects, time got away from me. I actually trimmed about an inch off of that tree--but it's still too big!
Haven't just been working on patterns. Found some gorgeous lilac fabric and they're up on Ebay. :-)

New pattern called "the Marilyn" by Marirose Dewitt on Etsy. It has 2 bodices, 2 skirts and the coat in 2 different lengths. I made all 4--but only posted these 2. :-)

I got barbie for 5$, her vintage fashions for 8$, and the 80s/90s clothes came with her. I planned on buying more, but I couldn't afford their prices. So she was my gem of the week!:)
I had to use this fabric. Perfect storm of Peanuts, Halloween, works with vintage pak and just plain super cute. And (if there was such a thing) I want bonus points for recreating the purse/bag for Suburban Shopper. :-)

I've been trying to finish a painting project, but Its been raining (a lot) and flooding (5th time for my basement), so I finally knuckled down and got to sewing...
I'm glad I am got them done when I did. A summer cold that has been dogging my family has finally caught up to me. Chicken soup and rest is my future for the next week or so...

PERSONAL FUN FACT: It's kind of funny the luck I have when it comes to "Bubblecut" Barbies. All three that I currently have in my collection were given to me in some manner or another. Besides that, I rarely find any 60s Barbies in the wild. I have grown immensely fond of the "Bubblecuts" for this reason, and I love that all three of my girls have a cool backstory (my redhead and blonde are pictured separately). This lady joined my dolly family in March of 2023. She was the oldest doll from the "Mountains of Monsters Lot" we were given that spring. Two ENORMOUS shipping boxes, packed with 166 various dolls, showed up on my porch one afternoon. They were an incredibly thoughtful gift, which my sister and I both cherished deeply. Bon Bon, as I named her, may have been the oldest from said lot. However, she fared better than many of the other dollies who were decades newer. Heck, she even had her original swimsuit!!! How awesome is that?!!! You so rarely find any dolls with their swimwear on, let alone from the 1960s. To top it off, her face paint was in incredible condition despite her years on this earth. I did have to touch up her eyebrows and eye liner paint a bit. But what remained was still very vibrant and fresh looking. Her hair is also wonderful, considering the weird texture dolls from the 60s sport. She's a true gem, and I'm so grateful that Bon Bon is part of my collection.
