It's strange how instant gratification evolves over time: from popping bubble wrap... to pushing a button... and now, returning to "normal"...
But "normal" has changed, normal is now wearing a mask and practicing physical distancing.
Delaying gratification can slow the virus spread and help with returning faster to something more like the "old normal".
What is required from us and how we respond to that will shape the story we'll tell in the future.
I recently posted an image of tea balls and said I would post a second. Here it is.
Shot in lightbox with Oreston 50mm and 20mm extension tubes, with metallic bubble wrap and fairy lights.

quite a few nights spent in there .. before it was done up there used to be a store of about 15 or so karrimats .. made for an extremely comfortable bed .. bubblewrap doesn't quite hack it on the wooden platforms
Day 248/365:
These three metal boules are a decoration in my lounge. I bought them on holiday in Menorca years ago. For want of anything else I thought I'd put them in the spotlight today. I placed them on some bubblewrap to add another dimension. Popped some textures over the bubblewrap then into Nik software to add a bit of drama.
Theme for Macro Monday "Texture".
The bubble wrap used to ship my new macro lens. I placed it on top of a colorful beach towel.
Happy Macro Monday!

Ray decided to camp out in his makeshift bubblewrap tent . The cats have been queuing up to use this polystyrene box for an afternoon nap.

It's probably pretty obvious what part of this is but in case you can't guess, it's bubble wrap over scented washing beads. HMM
Still really busy but will try to get around to commenting a bit later.
Edit: The Exif info is changed when adding a border in Lightroom but I did take the photo today. Janet, if you need me to upload the original, I will, I just think the white enhances the colour.

A busy weekend so I'm having to double up again.
Bubble wrap sprayed with some inks from my craft stash.
Back when we had Mist which made 3 hot dog waterbottles :) The kerchief weighs about 340grms and the sleeping bag about 350 grms having lost most of it's fluff .. camping mat .. a nice peice of bubblewrap (very underated) and doggy food to keep the waterbottles hot weighed the most! T'was to be a windy night .. 40/50 mph gusts .. the duomid was sound as a pound and didn't budge or deform an inch .. not a bad mountain 'tent' at all for 340 grms!!
I received a book from B&H yesterday wrapped in this bubble wrap. Thought it was interesting as the bubbles connect so they cannot be easily popped. I got the idea to shoot this over one of my oil & water images from a couple years ago, on my computer. So, the image under the bubble wrap is my image on my computer screen. I am happy how it turned out, and it was fun too.

Bubble wrap invented in 1957 by engineers Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes in Hawthorne, New Jersey. They sealed two shower curtains together creating a smattering of bubbles. They tried to sell it as textured wallpaper and as the product was unsuccessful they marketed it as greenhouse insulation.. It wasn’t until 1961 that its use as protective packaging was realised.
I am trying to imagine a room decorated with bubble wrap wallpaper and what it would look like after all the bubbles had been satisfyingly popped.
Bubble wrap sales are worth $400 million a year apparently.
Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is an orange day at Color my world Daily and we celebrate bubble wrap at Crazy Tuesday ! Life couldn’t get more awesome than that !
I dont think that I ever took a picture of bubble wrap… At least I don’t remember taking a picture of bubble wrap. So it might be a first for me.
And then I asked myself what is the most precious thing that should defiantly be protected by bubble wrap ? The answer is : a heart. So here we go: bubble wrap wrapped heart. Love is precious and must be protected !!
Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !
For this week's Crazy Tuesday theme: Bubble wrap
I laid some bubble down on my computer monitor while using a colourful wallpaper for the background.
Thanks for your visit. HCT!

I spent a lot of time wiping my glasses today. I shot this without them as I could see better without them as the rain gathered and steam from my breathe.

These huge iridescent sequins are made of plastic! The are actually a purply blue with interesting "Gasoline on a puddle" marks. In fact, the name of the colour is "Gasoline" for obvious reasons. I have had these for ages and they are rather badly scratched :-( I am using this photo for my Macro Mondays submission this week. HMM everyone!!!
Just back from a few days wandering round Affric with the tent and Paddy and Smudge (piccies to come). One of the highlights, though whether you could call it such, was the fact that rutting season is full underway with huge numbers of red deer stags blerting dawn and dusk ... that however had side effects of sleepless nights, not nescessarily caused by the stags but by something else .... (think Red Balloon Song :))
... 'You and I in a little old tent
Having kibble and a dash of milk
Ready for bed with my warm coat on
Snuggle down on my bubblewrap
Till one by one my eyes were closed
Back of my head, bugs in the software
Flash the message: "Something's out there!"
Thundering across the mountain side
Ninety-nine red deer go by
Panic bells, it's RED ALERT!
There's something there from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up two eager eyes
Focusing it on the mountainside
Where ninety-nine red deer go by
Ninety-nine decision street
Ninety-nine brain cells meet
To worry, worry, super scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it, boys, this is war
My Dad is now online too
As ninety-nine red deer go by
There's one eager pup with advid soul
A super duper jet dogo
Everyone's superhero
Everyone's Captain Smudge
With orders to 'Lie Down!'
To 'Stay and Wait' and 'Get Back Here!'
Scramble out in midnight skies
As Ninety-nine red deer go by
Ninety-nine dreams I have had
In every one, a red deero
It's all over and I'm standing pretty
In this dust that's on the end of my lead
If I could only go beyond
Just to prove my heart was true
And there find the red deero
Then I think of you, and let them go ......'
I got this bubble wrap with my latest order from B&H. I love that it looks like an Arabesque pattern.

31st January 2022 :
I wasn't going to miss out on National Bubble Wrap Day and as I had a box load left over from Christmas I made the most of it, or some of it. Put a sheet of it over my tin of sweet wrappers and upped the colours a bit.
I love popping bubble wrap. 😂
