The Philipsdam is part of the Delta Works. With the construction of the Philipsdam, the Krammer and Volkerak waters were immediately cut off from the Oosterschelde. The Philipsdam runs from the Grevelingendam to Sint Philipsland - after which the dam is named.

The Volkerak is a body of water in the Netherlands. It is part of the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta, and is situated between the island Goeree-Overflakkee to the north-west and the Dutch mainland to the south and east. The western part of the Volkerak is also called Krammer.
Tributaries of the Volkerak are the Dintel and Steenbergse Vliet. The Volkerak is navigable by sea-going ships through the Volkerak Locks (Volkeraksluizen) from the Hollands Diep. The Scheldt–Rhine Canal connects it to the port of Antwerp.
Before 1987, it was a tidal river open to the North Sea, but it was closed off as part of the Delta Works, it is now a fresh water lake.

The over 5 km long bridge is part of the N256. The bridge, built between 1963 and 1965, significantly shortened the route between Rotterdam, Bruinisse and Zierikzee in the north and Goes, Middelburg and Vlissingen in the south. It begins at Zierikzee on Schouwen-Duiveland and ends near the town of Colijnsplaat on Noord-Beveland.
For the first year and a half, the bridge was simply called the Oosterscheldebrug. In 1967 it was given its final name Zeelandbrug.
It was the longest bridge in Europe until it was replaced by the Öland Bridge in Sweden in 1972, which in turn was replaced by the Ponte Vasco da Gama in Lisbon in 1998.
The Zeelandbrug was listed as a Rijksmonument in 2015.

This ship has just left the "Krammersluis" and is most probably heading to Hansweert and then Vlissigen (Flushing) or Terneuzen.
