Sunday was a great day for a paint job. The weather was warm and the music loud! Stayed there till it got dark. Had to go back today to take the picture :p

The Goshawk has to be one of my favourite birds of prey but it remains particularly elusive with only around 400 breeding pairs in the UK. Whilst numbers have increased the species remains the target of egg collectors and still subject to persecution on some managed estates. This is actually a rescued bird I was fortunate to observe and photograph on private woodland.
This man has seen a lot in his lifetime. Unbending will and fortitude allowed him to succeed in his business. They say about such people - hardened by life.

Confederates convinced themselves that if they showed up in force, Kentuckians would not be intimidated by the United States but would feel free to join the Confederate cause and would join in droves.
Kentuckians did not. Quite the opposite.
The border state had declared itself neutral at the outset of the secession of southern states in the hope of brokering a grand compromise between the North and South to prevent civil war. Kentuckians did not want war and did not want apocalyptic battles of carnage between their fellow countrymen in their own yard. Although a small minority, sizable and elite parts of the population in the state, supported the Confederacy, Kentuckians did not want citizens of their state to be at war with one another. That was not good state policy. So, neutrality.
Despite being part of a slave-owning state, when push came to shove, Kentuckians overwhelmingly felt more loyalty to the U.S. Constitution and the United States. "United we stand, divided we fall" had been its state motto since 1792.
Rural and urban Kentuckians–north, south, and east–joined overwhelmingly to fight on the side of the United States against the Confederacy. They voted for pro-Union state legislators so much that 4 out of 5* of Kentucky's legislators were pro-Union. Even before the Civil War pushed Kentucky to polarize even more in support of the Union, early in the war the state House of Representatives introduced and passed a law that made joining the Confederate army a traitorous act against Kentucky and illegal for Kentuckians in House Bill 36 of 1861. Regarding national congressmen at the outset of secession, Steven Bernstein in Kentucky in the Civil War 1861-1862 writes: "On June 20th, Kentuckians elected 10 Congressmen, 9 of whom were Unionist."

The sky was awesome tonight down at Scappoose, Oregon on the lower Columbia River.
I was busy brokering a deal on a Jeep but I was able to seal the deal in time to drive off just as the sunset was about to go off. I had no idea where i was going to go to get the shot. As I was frantically scoping out the countryside for a shot this barn appeared to me.
I got out and snapped a shot or two.

Blaine & Summer's younger brothers join my cast. Their mother and father are in the midst of a nasty divorce in Australia. Their mother thought it best that the boys join their older siblings while she ties up lose ends before handing to America. In others words bleed their father dry of all of his millions for cheating. The whole clan is very protective of Bobby (Bobbi), due to the fact that he is different then most 15 year old boys. They always encourage him to be himself and often have to do damage control when the world isn't so nice to all the Bobby's of the world.
Footnote: I didn't know Blaine and Summer's real last name so I just took the creator of Barbie's last name. Google doesn't show anything with their last name. So if anyone knows it PLEASE advise.
