John Lewis is to continue showing its TV Christmas advert despite complaints it "glamorises" dog neglect.
The advert shows a boy hanging up a stocking on an outdoor kennel but then leaving his dog in the wind and snow.
Beverley Cuddy, editor of Dogs Today, said she was "horrified" by the advert, while 1,400 people have joined a Facebook campaign against it.
All the beautiful lights - but some poor woman in the midwest is paying the bill with her life savings.

A few years ago, I downloaded a film originally made by the BBC Film Unit called 'Salute to A.P.' about Alexandra Palace (or 'elexahndra pelece' in Received Pronounciation), celebrating the first eighteen years of broadcasting from the former Victorian entertainment venue.
As we all know, the fledgling television service (the first in the world) only lasted just on three years before, right in the middle of Mickey Mouse's Gala Premiere, the plug was pulled at I think midday on 1 September 1939 in the interests of national security because it was thought the Luftwaffe could use the mast as a homing beacon, which is a bit ironic as the same tx mast was used to bend their radio signals!
This is the first of three such screenshots taken at 21 minutes into that video and shows the same tv set being readied for use once again, so it's safe to say this was taken in 1946, just before the television service was resumed, hence the title.

The second broadcasting was at KBS, one of Koreas national broadcasting stations (typ SVT). It is located at the Yôûido island where you among other things can find the National Assembly and famous cherry blossom trees (unfortunately I was a bit too late this year, they were all gone when I got there). This is the mainbuilding.
