This was taken on the beach at Brighton on the south coast of England, about 7.00pm in the evening, a person was walking on the beach so I used the sculpture as a lead-in with the sun in the middle, I was lucky with this shot but one of my top10. taken on Fujichrome sensia 100asa slide film and scanned in PS.
The Brighton Marine Palace and Pier is a pleasure pier in Brighton, England, which opened in 1899. It is generally known as the Palace Pier for short but has been informally renamed Brighton Pier
Finally back from the UK! Though should have been back an hour and half earlier but they had to change a tyre on the plane. Quite amazed at how they could do it to a plane with passengers, luggage and fuel on board! Still shouldn't complain - safety first and all that.
I had four photography goals in mind from my trip to England and the west pier in Brighton was one of them. Taken mid-afternoon surrounded by optimistic British sun worshippers (note: look at sky - yes it was raining slightly) who were hoping for better weather. Me and another photographer, who I met whilst standing here, were probably the only two humans on the beach hoping for more clouds. Sorry Brighton and all good people on the beach that day!
It's funny, these last two weeks I've been looking at the images on the back of my camera and all the time I thought the image to the right of this one would be the one I go with (mainly because it was a 6 minute exposure) but when I finally fired up my computer and had a quick look this image was by far the much better.
I've tried to view peoples' images whilst over in England and comment as good as I can but honestly Flickr-ing on a small mobile phone isn't easy! So got plenty to catch up on in the coming days - really looking forward to re-viewing some of the excellent pictures I've seen but now on a bigger screen.
