Across the Agawa Canyon, the Bridal Veil Falls was a repeated source of inspiration for The Group of Seven. Several of the group: Lawren Harris, J.E.H. MacDonald, Frank Johnston, A.Y. Jackson and Arthur Lismer first painted in Algoma in May and September of 1918, travelling on the Algoma Central Rail, up into the remote Agawa Canyon, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Living out of a refurbished boxcar used as their base camp, they would paint for a month. Google: J.E.H. MacDonald, Algoma Waterfall

Looking Close On Friday-White Flowers On Black Background

I snapped this photo this morning in my backyard. I always look forward to seeing these flowers in the spring.

A Blushing Bride...One of the most exciting days of my life as many of you would suspect. I spent the entire day in the park taking photos...It was just wonderful.

Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Bark. From the parking area the loop trail to the falls and back is about 700 metres.

This building was constructed in 1927 and is the only one of the auto lodges built along the historic Columbia River Highway that still offers lodging. While it remains rustic, it has been extensively remodeled. The lodge is a popular wedding venue.

Doesn't get any nicer than this...Wonderful!

While waiting for the sun to go down and the tourists like myself to leave, we made our way to Bridal Veil Falls to see what it looked like. Well much to our surprise it was actually quite beautiful!!! It was a backlit shot but I managed to get a bit of a sunstar to add to the frame. Kris.

This is a very large cascade down the mountain near Chilliwack, BC. This was taken about an hour after sunrise

I had taken some shots of the falls around the platform which is well down from the base of the falls and we were ready to pack it in when my wife suggested i go up to the base where i had been taking pictures of kids who made the climb. 1) There was a sign that read DO NOT PROCEED PAST THIS POINT. 2) Why would a loving wife suggest her husband venture up a rocky steep slope where kids were falling left and right. These questions haunted me as i made my way up to the base and took this shot. I could not get much closer - much to my wife's disappointment - as the spray from the falls made photography pointless.

Provo River.

Bridal Veil Falls is located up Provo Canyon; one of Utah’s Scenic Byways. This spectacular 600 foot tall two tiered waterfall was once home to the Bridal Veil Tram and the Eagle’s Nest Lodge. In 1996 an avalanche severely damaged the tram line and the Bridal Veil Fall Tram has been closed since. Today all that remains of the commercial operation is some crumbling old concrete structures that once housed the tram equipment. Source: Utah Outdoor Activities

Bridal Veil Falls

Columbia River Gorge

Oregon

July 2025

Bridal Veil Falls, located in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon, is a picturesque two-tiered waterfall that cascades a total of about 120 feet through a lush, forested canyon. The falls resemble a bride’s flowing veil—hence the name.

In Pikes Peak State Park. It’s been pretty dry lately, so it wasn’t much more than a trickle.

Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. This is a good time to photograph waterfalls in Ontario as the water levels are higher than usual.

Located East of Chilliwack BC, Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park is a scenic day-use area. The landscape encompassing the park is characterized by low elevation valleys and lush, rounded mountains. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, and viewing the spectacular Bridal Veil Falls, which tumbles 60 metres over a smooth rock face, creating a "veil-like" effect. (From BCParks.ca)

Bridal Veil Falls is a stunning double cataract waterfall located in Provo Canyon, Utah. It stands at a height of 607 feet, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in the state. The falls are easily accessible from U.S. Highway 189, just a few minutes from Orem.

Happy Sliders Sunday!

Yes, I know; the name Bridal Veil Falls is one of the most common. This series of cascades is found in Keystone Canyon, a beautiful gorge east of Valdez, Alaska. The falls empties into the Lowe River alongside the Richardson Highway (AK-4).

I rarely shoot bridal stuff but this was an exception, I loved the location but when I asked him to dip her he must've thought I was shooting the cover of a romance novel or something. About 15 minutes before this, we had a timed shootout contest ~90seconds per person - same people, same location, unedited jpegs only, and I won a 20"x24"x1.5" gallery wrap canvas with that image.

Regardless, I was really happy with how this turned out

There are many waterfalls driving through Keystone Canyon, and Bridal Viel Falls is one of the named ones. It's a bit of a challenge to make an interesting picture because you basically just shoot it from a turn out on the road, and it's just a 300 foot waterfall coming straight down a cliff face in a tight canyon with no expansive view. I found this angle worked by showing some of the cliff face off to the side. Valdez, Alaska, USA, August 2016
