“In the external scheme of things, shining moments are as brief as the twinkling of an eye, yet such twinklings are what eternity is made of — moments when we human beings can say “I love you,” “I’m proud of you,” “I forgive you,” “I’m grateful for you.” That’s what eternity is made of: invisible imperishable good stuff.” ~Fred Rogers

As the theme this week is pink, it seemed like a great opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer as October is the awareness month and pink is the colour!! So ladies, and you gentlemen, please check those puppies on a regular basis so you know what is normal for you. If you notice any changes go see your doctor, better to be safe!
Thanks for viewing and HCT 😀

Married, mother of three & a sales executive in the IT industry, she lived an ideal life for 25 years. At the dawn of her fiftieth birthday, in search of meaning in her professional and personal life, she went back to school, divorced her husband and learned that she had breast cancer.
5 years later, as her physical and psychological reconstruction was completed, she had decided to publish her diary during the treatments period, "Bald platinum", as a testimony.
The portrait I made of her the day of her 50th birthday will be the cover image of the book.
I am happy and honored to be part of that journey 💜
✨ To find out more and if you wish to help her make the forthcoming publication a success by pre-ordering your copy, please visit the funding campaign here Bald platinum 🙏

A set of small wings that I photographed using the 105mm macro lens. I colour toned it slightly to have a pink appearance specifically for October for Woman and breast cancer awareness.

never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

October
O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes' sake, if the were all,
Whose elaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—
For the grapes' sake along the all.
Robert Frost

I have taken part in the Breast Cancer Awareness (digital) Quilt project again this year for Mimitalks here on flickr. Here's a link to her site for more information: www.flickr.com/photos/mimitalks/3313478590/in/set-7215761...
my quilt was created using the cotton candy template (by Mimi), using PS Elements, and some brushes by Obsidian Dawn (thank you!). The center is one of my own fractal/photo pieces that I had done originally for Valentine's Day.
My motivator for participating in this project is my dear friend, and survivor -- Kim (CaymanTwins). I encouraged Kim to participate this year as well. Although I helped put it together, the photographs and thoughts are from her heart, in honor of a friend who did not survive this disease. Rest in peace, Jill...

which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.
...and carrying HoPe with us along the way!!!!
I do love her lids so much too...reminding us to take care of ourselves...be proactive when it comes to breast cancer, and in general, our health. <333
Mimi asked us to write some words about the reason why we have chosen to partecipate to the Breast Cancer Awarness Quilt 2009...
