Break ups always go badly.

Sold in 2009. Miss this one badly for some reason.
Maybe one day I will get over it.
Photo taken for Frozen theme in the 30 Day Photo Challenge. Original photo included the sky and dull colors that didn't add anything to the image so it was cropped, desaturated, contrast enhanced, and colorized in GIMP.

It's breakup in Anchorage. It's an ugly time here - lots of dirty snow & mud. But I did enjoy seeing this today.

The Snye doesn't quite break up in the same way as the water doesn't flow much in here, but you can see it starting to come apart. During this time the Clearwater was still floating large pieces of ice through in waves.

Pieces have broken off today from the south edge of our shore fast ice. Right at the shore, it is getting very rotten and more open water here and there.
For scale, I think it is about one mile out to the water.
