the dark skies of the storm cracked open as darkness set in. bright light at first, and then red-pink fire through the black clouds. amazing.
i knew there'd be a breakthrough.
that's the chicago skyline under the sun there.
the pollution makes sunsets so much more interesting, don't you think?
I had arrived a little too early since the sun was hidden behind a distant bank of cloud, which gave a lovely soft light, but lacked a little sparkle. When it had climbed a little higher patches of golden light suddenly broke through the canopy.

Yeah, it's edited. Not the overall photo, but the colours and the contrast was enhanced, and I think I went overboard...but I like it like this.
