epiphany? divine intervention? freak accident? I think not! For me this was a breakthrough shot. I sat and took in all the factors, light, wind speed, magnetism, focal range, mineral rights, cotton swabs, directional movements of the local ant colony.... everything... and after a few min of deep though (interrupted by fits of laughter) and I manually adjusted as many settings as I could safely without bruising myself, and....... click!

This is the first shot, s.o.o.c. and for me was a breakthrough. I was so excited because I got exactly the detail and tones I wanted from that flower on the very first shot. It's not flashy, spectacular or take your breath away... but it's damn good and I am allowing myself a moment to revel in it!

Sculpture "Breakthrough", Køge Library Farm, Kirkestræde 18

In Køge Library Farm stands sculptor Jens Flemming Sørensen's sculpture "Breakthrough" from 1975. On the granite pedestal is located a bronze sculpture full of symbolic value, showing the birth of the universe. The sculpture was installed in conjunction with the reorganization of the library's courtyard in 1975.

The money for the sculpture came from an inheritance from Mrs. Julie Friderichsen, daughter of merchant Carl Christian Friderichsen, Square 9, and a grant from Køge Municipality's Art Foundation.

Another shot looking down towards the Isla Verde area from the beach.

I was mesmerized by the cloud banks and the interplay between them and the sun. This was taken around 6:30am.

The sun's rays explode through the clouds, lighting up the sky behind Alligator Island at Calabash Caye, Belize. This tiny island serves as a nursery for fish and invertebrates before they head out onto the scary reef. Also, no alligators exist here; only crocodiles. Whatever the case, don't get eaten.
