This is my entry into the MACRO MONDAYS competition theme "Glass" for the week beginning 24 August 2020. It's my very first entry into any Flickr competition, so I hope I've got it right. What a great fun thing to do.
I took this photo using a pink wine glass, soap bubbles from the top of our dishes water and a strong LED light.
I thoroughly enjoyed making the picture.

I'm really enjoying this process. This is the handle hinge of a blue transparent plastic bucket (i.e. the entire bucket is made from blue transparent plastic, including the handle). I used lights inside and outside the bucket, to create shadows, etc. HMM 😀

Forgiving is not forgetting. It's letting go of the hurt.
So this image wraps up my series on Self-Stigma. It wasn’t all that I had hoped it would be, but then again what ever is? it’s funny because this stigma series wasn’t even supposed to be self portraits in the first place, but it became much more than that. It became a narrative of my life both now and then, a transformation of sorts.
From bandaids to butterflies.
Yes, I was slicing bananas. Since 1997 I have enjoyed a Banana high-protein shake for breakfast. We go through a lot of bananas and it has got to the stage where, these days, I buy 30 bananas at a time. I then peel, slice and free-flow freeze them and we use a handful of the frozen slices each day. It's a delicious breakfast.

Graphium agamemnon, the tailed jay, is a predominantly green and black tropical butterfly that belongs to the swallowtail family. The butterfly is also called the green-spotted triangle, tailed green jay, or green triangle. It is a common, non-threatened species native to Nepal, India, Sri Lanka through Southeast Asia and Australia
The Pharaoh's chicken,
Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus), also called the white scavenger vulture, is a small Old World vulture and the only member of the genus Neophron. It is widely distributed from the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa to India. The contrasting underwing pattern and wedge-shaped tail make it distinctive in flight as it soars in thermals during the warmer parts of the day. Egyptian vultures feed mainly on carrion but are opportunistic and will prey on small mammals, birds, and reptiles. They also feed on the eggs of other birds, breaking larger ones by tossing a large pebble onto them.

On the grounds of the Franklin D Roosevelt National Historic Site is an area called Freedom Court and at the center of the court is the sculpture Break Free by Edwina Sandys, granddaughter of Winston Churchill. Crafted from a section of the Berlin Wall, it's a tribute to the shared vision of Roosevelt and Churchill for democracy and freedom to flourish. These goals were enshrined in the President Roosevelt's Four Freedoms. The sculpture shows human figures expressing freedom's triumph over totalitarianism. Break Free embodies the noble principles championed by Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill.
