Managed to get a picture of Steven Ellison, better known as Flying Lotus at the Treasure Island Music Festival. I wanted to get it signed but I forgot my Sharpie.

I seldom use the words 'next level'. But for the visuals Strangeloop and Timeboy provided for Flying Lotus this definitely goes. Two layers of projections, along with synchronised neon lights make for a surreal 'ambilight' experience. Pity you don't get to see Ellisons grining teeth anymore, now he's behind a screen.

archives! when this pretty old sketch was like half done, my moleskine survived beer-over-the-whole-table spill, performed by some dude... this is the most "damaged" page so far :)
He made one of the best jazz albums of 2015 and hive live debut in the Netherlands was just as spectacular. Go see him if you get the change.

After his gig, some drunk punk ass stole Gonjasufi's shoes. He never noticed though, because I ran after the dude and placed them back on stage while the yoga teacher was recovering from a mediocre gig @ GWO.
Last year Into The Great Wide Open turned out to be my festival of the year. The 2010-edition was even better. Oh, and the sun shined for five days straight. Well, almost.
i'd been wanting to see this guy since i heard the views/octopus ep in early 08 and saw him all over the LA beat scene with flying lotus. well my expectations were surpassed -- he flew all the way to Manchester to drop one of the most brilliant experimental electronic/hip hop sets i could have imagined.
he played in Montreal last month with some crazy a/v tech, light and sound syncing like you've never seen before and i think it gives you a good idea of the vibe goin on
and here's a video of mine
