the crossbars that the square sails hang from are called yards, and the lines that adjust the positioning of the yards (they swivel around the mast, so as to set the sail for different wind directions) are called braces -- VERY heavy to adjust, so every now and then we'd get the call, "all hands to the braces!!"
the low sunset light made everything look more red than usual, too...
I've had braces for a year. Despite the pain (and it has been painful, sometimes), the difference is astounding.
I have at least one more year left to go.

Anyhow, I got my braces off today! I'm licking my teeth soo much. Maybe I'll upload some pictures of me without them. I get my rutainer (sp?) on Thursday. I can't believe school already starts on Monday! I've been so productive lately in terms of sim pictures. lol.
I know...I missed another day.
ehh oh well, i'm trying.
but AHHH! I got my braces off yesterday.

Cliche I know, but I'm getting my braces off on wednesday and wanted to show them in a picture.
I'm wearing clothes. My tank top straps are just down.
And this is much more simple than my usual stuff, but I liked the way my processing worked, and the bokeh and the shadows. Yay!
But anyway, thank you braces for making me patient and giving me straight teeth. :D
