Hovet is a small, peaceful, silent, not-touristic mountainvillage, and you can find it on the map along the Rv50, from Hagafoss to Aurland. It belongs to Hol Kommune.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
In winter you can follow a trail for cross country skiing from Håkonsæt; there are several directions.

IN SPRING/SUMMER/AUTUMN: time for WALKING OR BIKING
From here, in the center of Hovet, at Hotel Håkonsæt, starts a 7 km walking/biking trail:
*Norsk:
Stien starter ved Håkonsæt Hotell, går over på andre siden av elva og vestover mot Bråset. Et stykke går du etter en merket traktorveg, videre går stien sørover opp den bratte bjørkelia. Det er jevn stigning opp mot Belvatnet. Her kan du se rester etter gammel boplass. Videre er det lett, kupert terreng over Budalshøgdene og ned til Budalen hvor du kommer inn på bilvegen som går til Geilo.

Note:
I have walked and biked the Bråsetvegen in Hovet, but I do not really understand what they mean with the road to Geilo. The only possibility is: to walk the trail till the end, then you arrive at the highway "50", that goes from Aurland to Hagafoss (Hol). In Hagafoss you can follow the road to the right: to Geilo/Bergen (Rv7), or to the left to Gol/Oslo (Rv7). There is a special bicycle path next to the "50".
There is a second walking trail when you go to the left after crossing the bridge.
