Images taken at The Cuban School of Boxing in Holguín, where boxers from the ages of 7 to 30 train. Cuba produces more winners in boxing than anyone else, and the Holguín Province in the East seems to be a stronghold for children to start learning. Boxers in Cuba start very young, with regular bouts from the age of around 7.

Holguín is the capital of the eponymous province, and the school has at least three main trainers and hosts regular Friday night bouts.

Boxing requires little equipment and much dedication, and it all begins with the children. Private boxing trainers are often engaged and will bring their pupils to the school to spar and fight. Older boxers at the school happily mentor the younger ones.
