Overlapping branches, with small evergreen leaves are common among NZ shrubs, and juvenile forms of trees. Is this suite of traits the result of evolutionary adaptation to avoid herbivory by moas, large (now extinct) flightless birds?
Not all algae are green. This blue one is blue because is reflects blue. That means it absorbs all the other colors of light. Perhaps it is trying to collect green light because red light is filtered out by the water.
Deep water algae are red to capture blue light.
the sign says "botany; fashions for men" but i'll probably cover it with a VISA sign or something at my booth. it works great for pics of my stuff too. what a find!
This time, a bunch of Osteosperma were my subjects. They are interesting little flowers and look especially good with backlighting.
