An epiphytic fern with unique foliage detail. Some feel it resembles crocodile skin, others feel more similar to snake skin. Either way - uniquely reptilian in appearance.

I chose to present here in black and white, which enhances the detail further.

Kew Gardens data base gives the native range of Microsorum musifolium as south Myanmar down to New Guinea.

It grows well here in the temperate areas of Australia. It is a shrubby fern with rosette, leathery foliage, with potential growth of 1 m in height by 1.2 m in width.

Agave desmetiana 'variegata' is a medium sized agave that forms an upright urn-shaped rosette with 90cm long by 10cm wide leaves terminating in very sharp, reddish-brown spines. The leaves are bright green with yellow variegation along the margins.

In the shadowy back alleys of botanical form, one pickle cactus rises—but only after being turned upside down for everyone’s comfort. This isn’t just a portrait of Euphorbia horrida—it’s a cleverly disoriented composition meant to draw attention to its fierce armor and ridged physique without veering too far into plant-based innuendo (though let’s be honest, it still kind of does). Supporting cast: zebra succulents, dressed for stealth in their iconic stripes. Proof that in succulent noir, perspective is everything—and orientation is optional.

Fun fact: Despite appearances, the pickle cactus isn’t a cactus at all, but a spiny euphorbia, capable of confusing botanists and Freudians alike.
