Completely uneventful on the way in, except a cool carousel horse on the bus billboard at Haymarket. Got to the Holocaust Memorial and picked up Khadija! really.....she came with fruit like before...on drive by this time. Through the Brick Yard...and guess what?? Yep, Boston Ladder 24 with lights and sirens blaring. Picked up a green bag at the Crosswalk....and an Orange Bicycle, from the Ames Hotel, like qwikLoadr....white bicycle too.
Up the stairs to Pemberton Square and a Boston Strong Pespi truck, never, ever there before. More fruit too,and the Pepsi driver was lost,which is odd, because its really, really hard to get into Pemberton Square, but there it was. Noontime was great too, 3 fire engines and 7 police cruiser with sirens, coming soon.

This shirt was created by kids from my college to raise money. It's out of print now, but I'm glad I got one before they were gone.

I had a great time at the Red Sox championship parade yesterday. Not only was the weather perfect, but we were able to see the parade from Boylston Street and then walked down and had a great spot for the water portion of the parade on the Charles River. The crowd was huge (as expected), but thanks to Katie's gator training in Florida recently, we were able to keep our front row spot on Boylston Street without a problem!
We both agreed that seeing the parade on Boylston Street was exciting and had more of a party atmosphere, but the water portion was probably my favorite. The boats came right up to the side where we were standing and because it was not overly crowded, the players were able to respond to fans yelling at them.
It was a long, but fun day. Hopefully we get to do it again next year around this time!

I'm in lockdown on my campus in Downtown Boston. On Monday two explosions occurred during the Boston Marathon, a mere 4-5 blocks from my dorm. I have never experienced the terror or fear that I have felt this week, and I'm hoping everything will end up okay. Despite this, I am SO proud of my city, of my school (Emerson College), and of the many law enforcement officials out there keeping us safe.
People of Boston, stay safe! We are strong and proud.
