This item is currently listed as a charity auction to benefit the victims and families of the Boston Marathon Bombings.. (Item# 121101365726) This item is a hand beaded Golden Retriever Comfort Dog pin wearing a blue & yellow 'Boston Strong' vest. This item is my own design and was hand stitched by me alone. This piece was created by stitching tiny Japanese 15/o glass seed beads to felt 2-3 at time using a needle and strong nylon thread. Beads were layered on top of other beads to create its unique texture. The dog's ear was beadwoven, and actually moves when you touch it. The dog's hair is layered beaded fringe which also moves when you touch it.

Pin measures approx. 4cm x 6cm, and a 1" metal pin is sewn to the back. Piece is backed with Ultrasuede and signed by The Lone Beader. This wearable art brooch is a one-of-a-kind handmade item and will not be duplicated.

The only thing that could make this more "Boston" would be Big Papi sitting on Mrs Mallard declaring this is our city, but that would not be child friendly.

Please keep in mind that I was surrounded by people, had no type of support at all, the camera was on top of my head and zoomed in all the way on some parts. Definitely not a good shooting situation. In the bright side, I’m not so sure I would have gotten a much better spot since their were already a lot of people when I got their. I was out shooting lots of other videos in other places and got close to the finish line pretty late but ironically I find it amazing that I was still able to get these kinds of shots and it included Thomas Menino (formor mayor of Boston) and Deval Patrick (Former Governor of Massachusetts.
