Image taken at the Christian Science Plaza in Boston, MA. The grounds along side the building are adorned by gardens, a fountain and a stunning 670 foot long reflecting pool.
The reflecting pool, designed by the firm of renowned architect I.M. Pei, is so large that the curvature of the Earth had to be taken into account to keep water from spilling over the sides.
The fountain design includes a cast-iron gate with 2-inch opening that allows 180 water jets to shoot directly out of the ground.

Boston Harbor, Rowes Wharf
In 1666 a protective battery called the "Sconce", or the "South Battery", was built at the foot of Fort Hill in the area now known as Rowes Wharf. In peacetime, the Battery had a company assigned to it in case of invasion, but had only one gunner. During the 1740s, the Battery was extended into the harbor and was defended by thirty-five guns. In 1764, John Rowe bought the land and built the first Rowes Wharf, which extended a short distance into Boston Harbor, and in 1765 Foster's Wharf was built on the site of the old Battery.
Foster's Wharf was originally called "Apthorp's Wharf". Charles Apthorp, being a staunch Tory, backed the losing side in the American Revolution, and it was his confiscated land and wharf that merchant William Foster bought for 6,266 pounds, 12 shillings in May 1782. Rowes Wharf, however, has carried its original builder's name since its inception. For the next 150 years or so, commercial shipping continued to be a main user of the area.

This sculpture of sorts hangs outside the Rockland Brewery building located in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury. The brewery itself was active from 1894 to 1902 and has housed a number of different businesses since.
The Rockland Brewery building is located in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury. The brewery itself was active from 1894 to 1902 and has housed a number of different businesses since. Today it is partially occupied with artist lofts and some small businesses.
A small street, almost an alley, running between St. James and Boylston Streets in Boston's Back Bay. These are the back sides of the more prestigious buildings and businesses that line those streets.
The Rockland Brewery was active from 1884 to 1902, its flagship product being Elmo Ale. Located in the Boston (MA) neighborhood of Roxbury, it later became Trimount Tool Co. Today it is partially occupied with artist lofts and some small businesses. The ghost sign near the top of the building still tells of its origins.
