Grey Seal pup at Donna Nook last week, one of many but the youngest one we saw. We think this one had probably been born the night before and still had is pink umbilical cord attached.

Well, the real story: The idea for my photo was a painting –
"The Creation of Adam" is a detail of the ceiling fresco by the painter Michelangelo Buonarroti in the Sistine Chapel. It belongs to a cycle of 9 single fresheners. It shows how Godfather brings life to Adam. The picture shows on the left Adam, who stretches his hand to reach God. Godfather stretches out his right hand to let Adam skip the lifebloom.
The picture is extremely popular, often only the two hands are reproduced as a detail and can be seen as an art print in many apartments.
My picture is a small copy, viewed from a different angle ;-)

Nun, die wahre Geschichte: Die Idee für mein Foto war ein Gemälde –
"Die Erschaffung Adams" ist ein Ausschnitt aus dem Deckenfresko des Malers Michelangelo Buonarroti in der Sixtinischen Kapelle. Es gehört zu einem Zyklus von 9 Einzelfresken. Dargestellt wird, wie Gottvater Adam zum Leben erweckt. Das Bild zeigt auf der linken Seite Adam, der seine Hand ausstreckt, um Gott zu erreichen. Gottvater streckt seine rechte Hand aus, um auf Adam den Lebensfunken überspringen zu lassen.
Das Bild ist äußerst populär, häufig werden auch nur die beiden Hände als Ausschnitt reproduziert und sind als Kunstdruck in vielen Wohnungen anzutreffen.
Mein Bild ist eine kleine Kopie, aus einem anderen Blickwinkel betrachtet ;-)

The market was designed in 1873 by the municipal architect Antoni Rovira i Trias (who also designed the Mercat de Sant Antoni) and built between 1874 and 1878 by master builder Josep Fontserè i Mestre and engineer Josep Maria Cornet i Mas.[2] The structure of cast iron columns and metallic horses was fabricated by La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima.
The market came into operation in 1878 and was in use as the central market in town until 1971. At its closure, it was functioning as a wholesale market, but was replaced with the opening of Mercabarna in Zona Franca.

El Mercado se asienta en la parte oriental de la ciudad de Barcelona, en la zona conocida durante la Edad Media como La Ribera. Tras la Guerra de Sucesión, la zona se derriba por completo para construir la Ciudadela, realojándose a sus habitantes en el recién creado Barrio de La Barceloneta. Posteriormente, esta fortificación se vuelve a derribar para dedicar la zona a parques y paseos, fundándose en una reorganización posterior el Mercado del Borne.
En 1873 el Ayuntamiento aprobó el proyecto para la construcción del Mercat Central de Barcelona redactado por Josep Fontseré y el año siguiente se iniciaron las obras. El edificio fue terminado en 1876. Fue el mercado del barrio hasta 1920. Después, se convirtió en mercado de frutas y verduras mayorista hasta que se inauguró Mercabarna en la Zona Franca, en 1971. Durante los años 80 del siglo XX, y tras una leve restauración, el espacio se habilita para la realización de exposiciones. Durante casi toda la década siguiente, sin embargo, permanece cerrado, en espera de una decisión sobre su futuro uso.
En febrero del 2002, mientras se realizaban unas obras para instalar en el edificio la Biblioteca Provincial de Barcelona, aparecieron restos arqueológicos de época medieval y en un estado de conservación excelente que corresponden a la evolución urbanística del Barrio de la Ribera desde el siglo XIV hasta que fue destruido en el año 1714 después de la Guerra de Sucesión Española.
En 2006, el gobierno de la Generalidad de Cataluña declaró el edificio como bien cultural de interés nacional.
Empezaron obras de restauración a principios de 2011 las cuales duraron dos años, finalizándose así con su inauguración el 11 de septiembre de 2013, coincidiendo con la Diada de Cataluña, con la conmemoración del tricentenario del sitio de Barcelona de 1714.

The Casper Mountain Dog Sled Races were this last weekend. I can't get over just how much those dogs love to run.

this is mine and angies new born baby that came into the world this saturday at 847pm.
angie was in labour for most of 33 hour before she was made to have a cesaerian which lasted for another hour and half.
her name is Tallulah Lilly and she was 9 pounds 11which is very big for a girl.
both are doing really well !!!!!!!!!!

Millie Floora vonMew was born to ride, and ride she does. She tricycles literally everywhere!
She is one of Annie Montgomerie's wonderful creations, and we are so happy that she's joined our family :)

I loved the video Annie took of this girl riding through the kitchen at night time, and wished she could be mine.
I couldn't believe it when i visited The Imaginarium and saw that she was still looking for a new home! I went back to work but couldn't think of anything else, and so i went back for her that evening. I have to capture her in video myself sometime!

If Lola were an athlete in the NFL she would be a tight end rather than a wide receiver. She can block, guard, tackle, and catch but with 81 lbs of lean muscle she does not change direction with the facility of a Jack Russel or a Border Collie. She powers through obstacles. She is fearless. In barn hunt competition she is known to move hay bales to get to the prize. In agility competition she will leap over any barrier with ease and negotiate the the seesaw with aplomb.

Na de foto van Lineas bij Echt werd besloten een kijkje te nemen bij de kolenoverslag Eneco in Born in de hoop dat de Captrain kolentrein, net als een dag eerder, weer te laat zou zijn. Normaliter vertrekt de beladen trein aan het eind van de morgen maar dit keer was het vertrek een uur of 4 later dan normaal, waardoor er ook een andere compositie mogelijk was. De fraaie zwarte eenling 6601 van Captrain kon zodoende als derde Class66 van de dag worden vastgelegd met 20 beladen Eaos'n terwijl de wagens worden gewogen op de weegbrug. Op de achtergrond zijn de voor dit bedrijf karakteristieke kranen druk bezig met het beladen van een schip op 23 februari 2018.
