Based on a painting held at Fyvie Castle, Aberdeenshire….long story but this assemblage travelled numerous times twixt Fyvie and Monmouthshire during the pandemic; picking up some decoration at each stage. Now hung in my shed-gallery. De Pfeffel was the name I gave this piece, in “homage” to our “illustrious” dandy leader of the time, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson. Happy days…

Brightwell Manor recently became home to former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his family, so I doubt this viewpoint - from the far side of the moat - will be available for much longer without a serious 'talking-to' from his security team.
September 19 2021; New York JFK. "Boris Force One" arrives with PM Johnson for the UN General Assembly.
This is the tool, a pitchfork, that the man who wishes to be the British Prime Minister wants to use in order to drive out the "great incubus", namely the European Union. Words matter. "Incubus" is a term taken from religious language. It describes the Devil entering you sexually. When Mr Boris Johnson conjures up the scenario of the EU f...g the UK from behind and that he would "pitchfork" it off the back of the British people [BBC interview, 24/6/19] you know what you have to expect. You have been warned.

Trying to relate this quote (Prime Minister Boris Johnson on 7/7/22) to the prediction that up to 10 million UK citizens will be pushed into poverty over the coming winter. The position is a quite uncomfortable one. Fuji X-Pro1.
... when dealing with dodgy donors, giving lucrative business contracts to friends, attending parties he should not and, importantly, when making promises on camera or even mentioning the word 'truth'.
Politicians. Loved by few, hated by many.
"They're all mouth" often is said, and this I took literally for this week's Sliders Sunday theme.
HSS my dear friends, and don't take life so seriously! ;-)
Politians shown here today are:

Nigel Farage (UK) | Michael Gove (UK) | Iain Duncan Smith (UK)

Political graffiti along the River Lea where it passes under Lea Bridge Road. I posted a narrower shot of this graffiti a few months ago.
Three years ago I published an image like this under the title Incubus. This was the text going with it:

Today, Mr Johnson resigned from office. His incompetence and dishonesty caused great damage inside and outside of the UK. Those who supported him and swept him into power have to ask themselves how they are going to regain credibility.
You will get this drink - if you are British, and when you vote for me - for I, Boris Johnson, the new St. Peter, I am holding the fabulous key to heaven in my hand. And I can promise you an eternal life of abundance and pride. Just vote for me, and from the 31st of October 2019 the gates to heaven will open and all Brits will be accepted, rich and poor (rich first, by the way).

"Sometimes I can think of so many ways of expressing myself
that I feel I'm an old typewriter,
and too many keys come forward at once -
and I get jammed."

Borexit. Hopefully a good day for the UK. It has to become better after the years of this narcisstic clown and notoric liar, who betrayed Britain as well as the EU. This guy (with his gang) has done lasting damage to my trust and sympathy for British politics, which I had for such a long time But who will follow? Anybody trustworthy´in sight? The Conservative Party seems to have become dominated by selfish career-people. Not to compare to real "right honourable" MP's and PM's long ago... And Labour?...sigh...

Georgian building situated within 'The Liberty of Norton Folgate', (best Googled) an area of stunning Georgian and Victorian buildings that were allowed to be desecrated by the blithering, bumbling, morally corrupt creature that is currently occupying the position of British Prime Minister.

An unusual view of an oft-photographed urban landscape shot.
I know this is non-traditional, but living in London, I don't get a chance to shoot anything less urban very regularly.

This hen lays golden eggs indeed! What? You can't see it? You are of little faith, you are! Our very British Prime Minister has promised us Brits (Britannia rules the waves!) a "new golden age". Boris Johnson loves the Empire and Churchill. He will take us back there. That is the main thing. Minute details such as workers' rights are not important right now. Britain will from now on do World Politics again: split Europe (keep the Germans out and the French under control), be careful with Russia but do take money from there, love the Americans, and send huge air craft carriers anywhere she wants. Trust our new world leader, he has read the Classics. He follows good old Aristotle's advice: some are born leaders, others born to follow.
Who needs to worry about support from Parliament when you know that the gods are with you? Come on, Boris, you are a classicist and it is time to take a leaf from antiquity! Why not the emperor Claudius? Humble and close to the people as he always was, he chose to be represented here as Jupiter. Now, that is an idea, Boris!
Claudius was Emperor from 41 to 54 AD. The statue, seen in the Salinas Museo Archeologico in Palermo, looks perfect because it was restored and reconstructed. I would think we can do the same to Boris.

In London again today, this time south of the river. When I lived in Bermondsey in the early 1990s, this area between Tower Bridge and London Bridge was not the best, but they have poshed it up enormously in the intervening years. There are now loads of offices and restaurants. And between the buildings there is a pedestrianised area and in the middle of that they have dug this health and safety hazard that lines up beautifully with Tower Bridge. The building on the right is City Hall.
