Today we finish our Bootstrap Fashion dress form shell! In our next post, we will start working on the inner structural support.

Dalston Roof Park is a public open space above a Victorian warehouse building in the heart of Dalston, London. It is a green space to relax, enjoy stunning views across the city and learn about cultivation of plants. A place of cultural exchange, a venue for performances, screenings and pop-up events. In short: A new "breed" of public space that promotes well-being wholeheartedly and attempts to "seed" the idea of a green space revolution, that will cultivate new green spaces in the city through bottom-up processes. The project is still evolving and has been implemented in phases, that helped to include feed-back and consultation of everybody involved. My friend Abi gifted me this yardage; I sewed it up on my grandmother's 1950 Singer 15-91.
I've blogged a little about construction; I am proud of this coat. It is underlined in flannel and features five hidden pockets, a padded hem, bust and back waist darts, and a bias-blocked sleeve.
My grandmother personified both a mature and rugged personal style, as well as a pirate-mouth! :) I miss her very much.
Poor Bootstrap is so easy going, but Harley just can't accept the fact that there is a new cat around. This wasn't really a fight. Harley was laying there peacefully and just decided that he wanted to pounce. I was lucky to have my camera handy because this took place in the matter of seconds. Not a clear shot, but lots of action here.

Still a long way to go to finish this garment, have to interface hem, tack in sleeve heads and shoulder pads. Dreading the buttonholes. 11 down the front of the jacket.
And then, gasp, start on the lining. Haven't even cut it out yet.
Notes so far: 1) Used faux suede on inside collar instead of wool to reduce itchiness next to neck. 2) Used Vogue 2655 Oscar de la Renta upper and under sleeve patterns mashed up with Bootstrap sleeve cap for more narrow and shaped sleeves. 3) Vogue sleeve means more buttons - three on each.
