Boot Hill Cemetery at Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Kansas. It is on the original location of the 1872 Boot Hill Cemetery. In 1879 a school was built on the site and the bodies were moved to Prairie Grove Cemetery. After the school was abandoned in the 1920s citizens rallied to protect the "historic" cemetery. In 1928 town boosters set up fake headstones to create a buzz for Kansas' Republican convention and from then onward the site has been used as a tourist site.
Boot Hill Museum was founded in 1947 as a Dodge City Jaycees community service project. The first building at the new museum was the Plains Museum. In 1958 a replica of historic Front Street was constructed. Several other buildings were moved to the two block museum over several decades. In 2008 it was named one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas History by the Kansas Samplers Foundation.

This is a simple three light setup in the studio. I used a Snoot to get spot lighting on certain areas of the boot, and soft boxes to get a even and soft cover of light. The brief for the project was to capture a simple product photo and edit it into a advert. ( These are unedited original photos )
boot hill saloon, daytona beach, florida, 1986.
the boot hill saloon was THE biker bar in daytona. i believe it was torn down within a year of my taking this picture. the tee-shirt on the biker leaning against the window says: "he who dies with the most toys wins." note the "exit only" sign over the door.

The nice hamlet of Boot, that is a short walk from the Dalegarth(Eskdale) terminus of the excellent Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway boasts a Water Mill, holiday cottages, a small shop and a couple of hostelries. It's a nice starting/finishing point for walks up England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, that stands at a height of 3,209ft. For van aficionados, on the right is JMP Foodservice, Sedbergh, Y20JMP, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 516 CDi. It was first registered in 09/2013. Photo taken on 15/08/2017. © Peter Steel 2017.
Boot is a small village in the scenic valley of Eskdale. The 17th century packhorse bridge spans Whillan Beck in Boot Village and takes you to Eskdale Mill.
Today morning I woke up with my camera and laptop at my side. Bent over below from the bed and decided to take a large aperture, short dof shot of my boot against the window with my kit lens. I haven't done this very often but i liked the possiblities that came to mind after the result :))
