BR-built Bulleid/Raworth SR electric loco (E)20003 at Brighton station in 1968, with 20002 just visible behind.. Possibly for an 'open day'..
20003 entered service in 1948, and was withdrawn in October 1968, and scrapped in November 1969. None of the class were preserved, but one of their motor-generator/flywheel units has survived..
Restored from an unfocussed grainy high-contrast original..

Ah, crap, where the hell am I? I try and get up but flop back on the ground again, then I remember. Oh crap, that dimensional transporter really did work, now where the hell am I, wait, where’s Skeets.
“SKEETS, YOU OUT THERE?” I yell out, trying to find Skeets, but being too lazy to get up.
“Yes sir” I hear Skeets say, not too far away, as he flies over to me.
“Sir, you appear to be hurt, do you need any assistance in getting up?” he asks, kindly doing what his programing tells him to do.
“No… uh, I’ll be fine, anyways where am I?”
“You appear to be in a different universe where things seem like they come from a fantasy story.”
“Ah, well I can’t wait to meet this universe’s counterparts of the regular superheroes” I tell Skeets.
“I can’t wait either” Skeets says, beginning to fly in the direction of the nearest civilization, as I take off, we arrive in no time. I hover above the people of this city, as they look at me, unsure what to think.
“People of the Kingdom of Metropolis, I am Booster Gold, your new super powered hero, ready to protect you from the easiest of threats.”
“The only super hero to still have a mullet” Skeets adds, even though he’s a robot, he still has personality.
“Skeets, mullets are cool in the 25th century, anyways If you want me to sign, I dunno your family crest, armor, or swords, feel free to come here” It took them a while to get the hang of It, but eventually some people started coming a long and within no time I was in business.
“Alright Skeets how does this sound, we introduce T shirts, but only have them sold with my logo on it, there won’t be any completion” I’m pretty excited about this, this is a pretty good way to be a hero, while still making some money, I’ll be the first ever celebrity, this is going to be good.

A booster for the most powerful rocket in the world, NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS), successfully fired up Tuesday for its second qualification ground test at Orbital ATK's test facilities in Promontory, Utah. This was the last full-scale test for the booster before SLS’s first uncrewed test flight with NASA’s Orion spacecraft in late 2018, a key milestone on the agency’s Journey to Mars.
“This final qualification test of the booster system shows real progress in the development of the Space Launch System,” said William Gerstenmaier, associate administrator for the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “Seeing this test today, and experiencing the sound and feel of approximately 3.6 million pounds of thrust, helps us appreciate the progress we’re making to advance human exploration and open new frontiers for science and technology missions in deep space.”
The booster was tested at a cold motor conditioning target of 40 degrees Fahrenheit –the colder end of its accepted propellant temperature range. When ignited, temperatures inside the booster reached nearly 6,000 degrees. The two-minute, full-duration ground qualification test provided NASA with critical data on 82 qualification objectives that will support certification of the booster for flight. Engineers now will evaluate these data, captured by more than 530 instrumentation channels on the booster.

A booster of the Ariane 5 launcher that will carry ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice) into space is being transferred from the booster storage building (BSE) to the launch vehicle integration building (BIL) at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. The booster is installed on a platform that will be fitted onto the launch table in the BIL.
The trees and lorry give some idea of the size of this booster – at 31 m tall, it would be far too long to fit inside a 25-m swimming pool. It forms part of a pair that will be anchored to the Ariane 5’s central core stage this week. After anchoring, engineers will carry out mechanical and electrical checks. The proper functioning of these boosters is vital to get Juice into space – each contains 240 t of solid propellant, and together they provide 90 percent of the thrust at liftoff.
Juice is humankind’s next bold mission to the outer Solar System. It will make detailed observations of gas giant Jupiter and its three large ocean-bearing moons – Ganymede, Callisto and Europa. This ambitious mission will characterise these moons with a powerful suite of remote sensing, geophysical and in situ instruments to discover more about these compelling destinations as potential habitats for past or present life. Juice will monitor Jupiter’s complex magnetic, radiation and plasma environment in depth and its interplay with the moons, studying the Jupiter system as an archetype for gas giant systems across the Universe.
These activities mark the beginning of a six-week campaign to prepare the Ariane 5 for launch on 13 April. It runs in parallel with teams preparing Juice for launch, which started three weeks earlier. On 1 April Juice will be placed onto the Ariane 5 before being encapsulated on 4 April. The whole system will be rolled out onto the launch pad on 11 April.

Went chasing perseids, saw something really magnificent instead - Falcon 9 booster! The look was ominous as a bright object just illuminated the sky. Luckily, it was rather harmless
Bernie McAdams, son of James McAdams was a failure in his father's eyes. James resented and practically disowned Bernie, but loved his older brother Stanley. Back in the day, James was a local super hero named "Booster". He fought crime and wasn't afraid to let the world know his true identity. The McAdams were very famous and rich because James was an inventor, he had invented many useful products. Eventually after years of crime fighting, James offered the role of Booster to Stanley, but he wouldn't take it, and soon after moved away. This left Bernie to stay and take care of his father, because his mother had died many years earlier. One day while walking with his dad, they encountered a thug that James had put in jail many years before. The thug recognized him and began to attack him. James couldn't do anything in his condition, but Bernie stepped in and scared the thug away. With a newfound respect for Bernie, James agreed to teach him the ways of crime fighting, and now Bernie McAdams, son of James McAdams bears the burden of the rocket powered crime fighter, the Booster!

So I made Booster Gold, and the other two just sorta happened.
Left To Right
Blue Beetle: Nothing to special here. Don't love the torso.
Skeets: Again, nothing special. Inspired by MrMinifig.
Booster Gold: I had the idea to turn the hydra henchman head into booster gold. Wish he had a smile though. Other then that, he's fully painted
The future German chancellor Scholz wants compulsory vaccination for all. And 30 million booster vaccinations until Christmas.
I actually bought this combination before I saw this pic. And even though I am not (anymore) the biggest fan of belts I have to admit: this belt does the trick. Thanks to the lady for the hint.....
The boosters enable the UCAV to be placed near any threat much faster, without having to use the internal fuel.
Because there is no pilot, the UCAV can in fact be delivered halfway across the globe if need be. In that case the boosters will put the UCAV in a sub-orbital ballistic trajectory towards the area of operation. After its mission, the nearest friendly airbase will be used for landing. The UCAV will remain stored until it can be retrieved by a dedicated cargo plane.
Cosplayer: one of my cosplay buddies, Stabitha Stabs in her gender-bend version of DC Comics' "Booster Gold." I love the little "Skeets" she has on her shoulder!
UPDATE: Thank you everyone for the faves and comments! Never expected my photo of Stabs to be up on Flickr's Explore page. Awesome surprise!!

F1 rocket engines of the Apollo/Saturn V Booster. The "V" designation originates from the five powerful F-1 engines that powered the first stage of the rocket. The Saturn V remains the largest and most powerful U.S. expendable launch vehicle ever built. The first stage includes the five F-1 engines producing nearly 7.7 million pounds of thrust. These powerful engines are required to lift the heavy rocket fast enough to escape Earth's gravity. The first stage engines are burned at liftoff and last for about 2.5 minutes taking the vehicle and payload to an altitude of 38 miles. The first stage then separates and burns up in the Earth's atmosphere.

My final update of booster gold

And his trusty robot sidekick, Skeets.
Well I decided that my Booster Gold was a little too simple. (And my skeets)
So I added shoulder pad things to Booster's arms, gave him gauntlets and wrist blasters, and I made a chest plate instead of using cut up Lego armor.
With Skeets I completely remade the entire thing. I gave him more of a JLU look. I used a Lego blaster, lightsaber blade, a stud and a throwing star. I'll leave it up to you to figure out where all those went.
Also the chest plate looks bumpy but it really isn't.
Please remember to comment as I did put a lot of hard work into these guys. (especially Booster's star. :P )
In the early 1980s, Burlington Northern was in need of additional motive power. For whatever reason, they also decided they didn't need cabs! BN ultimately wound up with a fleet of 120 GE B30-7A B units. There is much contention in the railfan community as to whether these are designated "B30-7A" or "B30-7AB". GE officially listed them as "B30-7A", but several railroaders swear up and down that the blue cards read "B30-7AB". Either way, these unique little boosters could be found all across the BN system doing just about anything. They differed from standard B30-7s in that they used a 12 cylinder FDL engine to achieve 3,000 horsepower, instead of the 16 cylinder model. The result was a more fuel-efficient locomotive.
By the late 1990s, the fleet was approaching 20 years old and BNSF, like the other Class 1s at the time, was looking toward retirement of its Dash 7 fleet. Central Michigan Railway was shopping for power at the same time, and a deal was struck with BNSF for the purchase of 3 B30-7ABs, along with a lone B30-7 and a trio of C30-7s. 2 of the units wound up in Central Michigan's new gray and red scheme, becoming CMGN #2001 and #2002, while the third remained BN green. They fit in nicely with CMGN's existing U23Bs, and worked for the next decade hauling freight, coal, and grain trains through the Michigan countryside. By the end of the 2000s, they were showing their age, and Rail America transferred EMDs from other properties to replace them. After a brief stint in lease service on neighboring Lake State Railway, all 3 were sold to a railroad in Mexico. South of the border, they were equipped with cabs and continue to work there to this day.
During Durand Railroad Days 2006, train 702 (now operated by Huron & Eastern) arrived from Bay City behind U23B #8903 and B30-7AB #2001. They are seen here taking headroom on CN's Holly Subdivision as they pull clear of the switch to back into the yard. The B unit would be left in Durand to await an inbound coal train, while the U23B would take 701 back north solo the following day.
