The River Reading Room was a structure that responded to Gwangju’s ten-day pro-democracy uprising in May 1980, which ended in the massacre of hundreds of students and citizens.
A collaboration between Adjaye and the writer Taiye Selasi, the pavilion houses a library of 200 books about histories of social justice and protest, curated by Selasi. The space acts as a public reading room, encouraging the city’s inhabitants to exchange books and ideas related to freedom, democracy, equality and human rights.

Si sigues hacia Panes, el Desfiladero de la Hermida y Potes abarcarás una espectacular ruta circular de poco más de 200 kilómetros. Esta carretera es de doble sentido y un carril para cada sentido de circulación y cruza la cordillera Cantábrica atravesando gran parte del Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa, por el puerto del Pontón (1280 msnm), en terreno leonés y la parte del Parque Natural de Ponga. El desfiladero de Los Beyos, que comparten León y Asturias es unos de los tramos más espectaculares.
