Osaka Castle, Japan
Osaka Castle is a very impressive structure that is situated in the Osaka Castle Park and is surrounded by a sizeable moat. I visited this castle post-sunset on Monday evening having opted to shoot the nearby little building that is The Sanctuary.
On walking around the moat and into the grounds via the drawbridge, the size of the park becomes very apparent. I personally loved the trees that offered some interest in the image when photographing the castle and the inclusion of the street lights added an extra dimension. I loved the castle and found there to be numerous compositions on offer. I shall definitely be bringing my clients along to this location on my April 2024 Japan photography workshop.
For those interested, Osaka Castle was originally completed in 1586 as a display of power and grandeur by the samurai warlord and ruler of Japan, Toyotomi Hideyoshi after accomplishing his goal of unifying Japan. “Alpenglow in the Dunes”
After suffering through a crazy windstorm the day before, I found the dunes to be wiped clean of footprints and I was able to capture this wide open view in alpenglow. This is kind of one of my secret locations in the dunes that I would bring my students to on the next night. All of the other action shots from the tennis courts have been of the blondes. Here Eva is showing that she can book it too. I like her movement and how much she looks like a puppy here, but the fence drives me a bit batty. She keeps to the periphery of the courts when we're there (apparently that is where the good smells are), so getting her without the fence is problematic at best.
