A Follow Your Finger Book

Winner of the Sainsbury's Baby Book Award.

Can you tell it's been a while since I've been in a bookstore?

Written in 1935. This cover is from the 1951 edition. I can only assume the cover designer didn't read the book first.

(Thanks Relly!)

I was chatting with the O'Reilly bookseller at dConstruct and saw James new Designing Web Navigation book. After a flip through it I really want one. It looks to be quite exhaustive, well designed, and in color. It is a gem of a book.

From the back cover:

The Tipping Point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

From the back cover:

Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea, Guy Delisle's internationally bestselling and critically acclaimed graphic novel about the "hermit country," was named among the best of the year by Amazon.com, TIME.com, CBC Radio One Talking Books, and others.

I work with him on ficlets, I should probably read his stuff.

update: It was great (::whew::)!

Review copy (uncorrected proof) found while sorting out books for the Amnesty sale.

ZoneTag: Photosphere / About. Owner only: Fix Location / Add Tags / Settings

ZoneTag is mentioned in the recently released book from National Geographic. Aimee talked to me a quite a few month ago for background, but ZoneTag just ended up in the bottom of a "geotagging applications" list. Still, ZoneTag is mentioned in a book from National Geographic. That's damn cool.

The book itself is beautiful - great design, simple, nice ideas. Written for the masses. I wonder for how long will it be relevant.

Arrived today! I'm cracking it open tonight over dinner.

If I've done this right, you should be seeing this photo on revish too. Exciting stuff, huh?

Finally managed to get my hands on a copy of The Elements of Typographic Style after Amazon failed to deliver after having it on order for over 3 months.

So for those of you in the UK who are yet to get a copy try Langton Info, although at the time of writing they seem to be almost out of stock.

Seems I was pretty lucky to get this!

I got the microformats' book at the office.

Two great things that go great together: the KERN sweatshirt from Veer and the new Microformats book by John Allsopp.

Sorry about the crease. These manuals are a bit worn.

Just in time for Dan Rubin's DC visit, Nguyet gave me a copy of Pro CSS Techniques. Thanks! :-)

My review copy of "The Long Tail" by Chris Anderson. I'm going to bury my nose in this and write a review on my site as well as on Newsvine as soon as possible. If you have no idea what this is about, then you should read the origional story from the October issue of Wired Magazine.

Web Accessibility: Web Standards and Regulatory Compliance. An early comp of the cover for 'my' new book. I wrote the CSS chapter and blogged about it.
