I rebound this book using scrap chrome-tanned leather. The labels on the spine are laser etched, since the leather is hard to work. The detail is very clean but the text doesn't contrast the red leather enough.
Poplar covers, white sheepskin, red goatskin.
Spine title set with 32pt IM Fell French Canon.
The top book is 'Handbook of Financial Mathematics, Formulas, and Tables' by Robert P. Vichas.
The bottom two are Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary.
The headband is made with cotton embroidery thread. This is difficult to work with and compresses slightly.

The tooling is a 5/8 brass hand tool, rotated 90 degrees.
when i get a smaller tool. ill finish the area towards the spine edge.
The title was blind tooled with lead type.
You can see the border of the lead slugs around the characters.
Right, this is the nth attempt to remember what I read in paper books in any given year. I have almost no memory of what I read last year. This year, I will photographing covers.
Now just need a way of automagically adding metadata / machine tags / magic words.
