Summer 2025

In twilight’s gentle, soft embrace,

A silhouette, a timeless grace,

Curves that whisper through the night,

Bold and soft in moon’s pale light.

Eeek - we have the first pic back from this ultra fabulous shoot a few days ago. There are some gorgeous pics of Mish and I coming up (she was putting her wig on while we shot these!) but I just had to show you this one. No body edits (i.e. no liquifying - photographers, you know what I mean), just all natural curves. And no, I know I'm not super skinny but I am healthy! :)

Also, check out the video I shot after all the shoot - covering the shoot itself and also branching into the nude modeling debate and my thoughts on it:

Corin is competing in the FabOver40 contest — a celebration of women making a difference over 40 — and we’d love your support.

Her story is one of kindness and courage: running toward accidents to help strangers, comforting people in crisis, noticing those in distress when most walk by. That’s who she is — and why I think she’s truly fabulous.

She lies lengthened into the moment, unguarded and unhurried.

The sheets become a pale landscape beneath her, gathering folds and shadow while light settles along her back with familiarity. There is no tension in her posture, no urgency in her gaze—only the ease of someone who knows she does not need to turn toward the sun for it to find her.

This is not display.

It is belonging.

Warmth traces her slowly, confidently, as if it has learned the shape of her patience. What radiates here is not invitation but continuity—the calm after certainty, the assurance that nothing more needs to happen for the moment to be complete.

Some suns don’t move on.

They lie down with her.

I thought it was about time for another self-portait, since the last one was the strange "Lady of the Lake," which I posted on the last day of YAYOM.

So, seeing as I was wearing a nice, big, warm, fuzzy sweater, leggings, and fuzzy boots, I thought I'd be warm enough going out with an umbrella for a quick photo session (like five or so minutes). Little did I know that the temperature had dropped since I got dressed, and that sleeves and gloves would have been good additions. Oh, well.

I shot about 3 rounds on continuous timer, some in which I goofed around, dancing in the rain, some walking, some twirling. This frame caught me turning, and was the best of the bunch, I think, at least from a body-confidence standpoint. All the curves are showcased here! Haha!

Happily, it also fits with today's Shutter Sisters' One Word Project prompt, "knits," since that's what I was dressed in. And, of course, if not for Vivienne McMaster and You Are Your Own Muse, I probably wouldn't be taking self-portraits on a regular basis, but hiding behind the camera.

The moment turns, and the light follows.

Brick and mirror hold their distance while warmth traces a single, deliberate contour—patient, attentive, unafraid. Nothing rushes forward. Nothing hides. The body exists here as geometry softened by breath, a gentle arc where confidence settles without announcement.

This is not emphasis.

It is acknowledgment.

Radiance gathers along the edge of form, honoring the line rather than the spectacle. What remains is clarity—the calm understanding that beauty does not need to face forward to be fully present.

Some suns prefer the horizon.

They linger where the curve begins.
