Dutch sailing barge

A beautiful piece of Norway not too far from where I live, about 40 minutes by bike / car and a popular fjord and destination for those who have a boat in this area.

Curious craft!

I took this image some years ago. I didn't know what is was then & I still have no idea.

It appears to provide accommodation but has no steering gear or apparent means of propulsion. I can only assume that it is meant to be towed behind another boat.

Does anyone know anything about this little craft?

The historic harbour ferry

The Kennet & Avon Canal at it's junction with the Somerset Coal Canal.

Travelling from the direction of Bath, the K&A turns sharp left here, crosses the Dundas Aqueduct & heads off in the direction of Bradford on Avon.

The lift bridge marks the entrance to what remains of the Somerset Coal Canal. This restored, privately owned quarter mile section terminates in Brassknocker Basin. It provides moorings, a cafe & is the base for the Bath Boats hire company.
