You've been looking down
We've all been expecting you
You've been running around
I bet you've fallen way behind
I sat bang in the middle
Of what you want and what you need
Trying to figure it's all inside of you
It's all inside of you, it's all inside of you
But you don't need to look anymore
All you need is all you are
Trust in you, you've come this far
Live your life while you're waiting
Pack up and go
You know it's a wonderful world
When you're up from you down low
Look out your window
Come on it's a wonderful world
Wonderful world
Now we got you thinking
Of what you done and who you are
I never said something
Never take it lying down
Move up to the front
Of who you are and what you need
Let the liberate form inside of you
It's all inside of you, it's all inside of you
So you don't need to look anymore
And all you need is all you are
Trust in you, you've come this far
Live your life while you're waiting
Pack up and go
You know it's a wonderful world
When you're up from you down low
Look out your window
Come on it's a wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Live your life while you're waiting
Pack up and go
You know it's a wonderful world
When you're up from you down low
Look out your window
Come on it's a wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world
Wonderful world

If Springtime crawls out of the
wild mouths of flowers, then
surely, winter crawls out of mine.
~ Cecilia Llompart
It sure doesn't feel like spring - it's supposed to go down to -6C tonight, and be cold all week. But on a walk last week, I found this little bush with blossoms on it. I have no idea what kind of flower it is, but it's definitely a sign that spring is coming soon.
The first flowers of spring are delicate and begin to bloom shyly. However, as they get used to light, they burst into bloom beautifully. Like this delicate white anemone later. Finland, on a cool evening.
A Montana Sunrise is different from a west coast sunrise.
The sunrises and turns the sky with clouds into fingers of light.
The sky bursts forth like a fire in the sky with the sun as the power ...

Morning light, Chugach State Park, Alaska
One of the upsides of visiting Alaska in the winter is that there is no rush to be up early for sunrise. One can enjoy plenty of time for breakfast and a leisurely cup of coffee while waiting for the first light to creep over the mountains. Most of the mornings I was there it was too cloudy to see any color in the sky, but the last day made up for all the other ones!
I was finishing up packing for our departure and as I glanced out the window I saw the aptly named Mount Alpenglow bathed in fiery shades of pink. So I grabbed my camera, threw on my boots and coat and dashed outside. In every direction were mountains aglow with light and color and I hardly knew where to look because I did not want to miss a single moment of it.
In my haste to get outside I had forgotten my gloves, so taking photos in the 10 degrees F/ -12 degrees C temperature resulted in some frozen fingers, but it was well worth the cold. (I also forgot to bring my phone with me with my PeakFinder app, so I am not certain of the names of these specific peaks.)
P.S. Unfortunately I realized once outside that the best and least obstructed view of Mount Alpenglow was actually from my room window. So I did not get any good shots of it. But if you want to see what caught my attention, I have included a photo of the colors through the trees in the first comment below.

I will be out most of the day Saturday, but will catch up with you all later!
Herb Robert showing its autumn colour in the wood.
I'm trying to use the 50mm more especially as it is so light, which is very pleasant. Loved this patchwork of colours on the ground with a little sunshine from behind.
My tulip doesn't seem to want to bloom

Hard to beat a bird's eye view.
This photo was taken about 6.5 minutes before the shot I posted of St. Helens. The light was changing fast and I was hoping St. Helens would be all pink, too, but by the time the plane was in a good position for me to get the shot, the sun had gone down quite a bit in just those 6 1/2 minutes.
I'm sure many of you know what mountain this is. If not, you can read the following:
"Mount Rainier, also known as Tahoma, is a large active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest in the United States. The mountain is located in Mount Rainier National Park about 59 miles south-southeast of Seattle.
Due to its high probability of an eruption in the near future, Mount Rainier is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, and it is on the Decade Volcano list.
With a summit elevation of 14,417 ft (4,394 m), it is the highest mountain in the U.S. state of Washington and the Cascade Range, the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States, and the tallest in the Cascade Volcanic Arc.
The large amount of glacial ice means that Mount Rainier could produce massive lahars that could threaten the entire Puyallup River valley. According to the United States Geological Survey, "about 80,000 people and their homes are at risk in Mount Rainier's lahar-hazard zones."
Between 1950 and 2018, 439,460 people climbed Mount Rainier. Approximately 84 people died in mountaineering accidents on Mount Rainier from 1947 to 2018. (Wikipedia)
Hmmm, a sleeping beauty?
This was a beautiful tulip that I had in the garden two years ago. I bought the bulbs at a Craft Fair, and was very pleased to see the unusual colourful striations on the petals. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get any more of these bulbs since that time.
Just taken this morning I love the brilliant red on these flowers! And I noticed the white little flowers all around it and thought it would make a nice image. It's in a pot on my deck and hopefully this Fall I can bring it inside. Thank you my friends for supporting my habit at least it's safe, most of the time ;-)
